Despite being located near some villages and cities, this is a remote place. With almost no traffic signs, the only destination nearby that can helps to locate it is the “Barragem da Queimadela” (Queimadela Damn). Better try with GPS but after Pontido you have to insert Queimadela – otherwise you´ll never get here.

My stay at Aldeia do Pontido was just perfect!
You can relax, read a book while hearing the sound of the stream... I walked around and took hundreds of photos in the streams, to animals, to flowers...
Every house has it's own kitchen so we prepared our meals there.
The breakfast was very good...
