Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for 1 night in a family room on the first floor. One of us is a wheelchair user. The hotel has ramps, disabled 'access' whatever that means. What it hasn't got is a lift big enough for a wheelchair. It is about 1 metre x 1 metre. You have been warned !

Stayed here as a stop over before getting the ferry back to the UK. I can say i would not go back. Unfortunately the area in which this hotel is situated did not make me feel safe at all. The hotel rooms looked nothing like the pictures advertised, very basic although was clean however due to needing some TLC makes it look unclean. The TV in the room has for some reason had all british channels wiped off. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, very very basic. Stayed in another budget hotel at the beginning of the week which was a lot nicer and alot cheaper.

I was a little nervous when I entered the hotel. I was not sure to expect. This is not some 20 floors high hotel. The staff was efficient and friendly. So nice! The room was clean. I stayed three nights and each day I came back to a nice, clean room after work. I would stay again. There are not many restaurant options in walking distance. However breakfast and dinner is available. There is also a nice bar with a selection of adult spirits and non alcoholic beverages.

This is a lovely hotel and I'd return in an instant. The black girl with glasses at reception was really happy, smiley and could not do enough to help, she deserves massive applause for her customer service IBIS, a really great advert for customer service!! Plus, she attempted to speak English to me, for which she deserves a medal. The room and bed were super comfortable and I can't say enough good things about this hotel - would I return? Definitely!

It's a bit hard to find for a Caen newbie but once there, there's secure parking. Hotel is quiet. There was a nice receptionist. The room was spotless and comfortable. I didn't have breakfast but the coffee was OK.

We stayed one night at this hotel as part of a tour in a coach. With that said, we had dinner set up ahead of time, as the nearest restaurant is who knows how far. The meal was weak & tasteLess, but that seems to be the norm when you’re traveling in a group. The chicken was dry & tasteless. The other food options were just as bad. No kettle in our room, we don’t know why. The room was endured for one night, but the showered completely soaked the bath floor. We spent half of the morning soaking up the water as they build the showers with a partial wall. The shower was powerful, thus causing the water to splash all over.

The hotel was OK.. More 2*than 3.. Rooms small but bed comfortable and water hot. However if your part of a tour don't think your going to get fed.. The hotel refused to serve any food or bad food to anyone on the tour.. No reasons given just total refusal even when not busy !!

Another holiday another Ibis. We ended up staying here for a couple of nights as part of coach trip on the way back from a Battlefield trip. Upon arrival we were allotted a room but there was a problem with the toilet where the water kept on running even though no one had flushed. Worryingly the reception desk seemed to know of the issue before mentioning it to them. To their credit they allocated us a new room straight way, but if they were aware of issue why were we put in there in the first place? The new room was pleasant enough, basic, but clean and comfortable. It was hot evening and as there was no air conditioning I had to open the window only to be greeted by a loud and constant thud of a bass line. Someone obviously enjoying their night better than me. Breakfast was ok, but I was disappointed that the egg, bacon and sausage mentioned in some other reviews were nowhere to be seen. The biggest issue however was the hotel could not cater for our coach party for dinner. We had to be bussed into Caen city centre some miles away for something to eat. This was made worse by coming back to the hotel to find independent guest eating meals. It was not always easy to get the staffs attention as they appeared to be very busy. When you did get hold of them they were helpful and friendly. Having stayed in Ibis hotels many times before I know what to expect, this hotel I do not find representative of the brand.
