Yes it is a unique hotel. Location is unique and the food and wine are excellent with excellent service in the evening. We asked for a quiet room with two comfortable beds.........some of the worst beds ever....short and narrow. Why are European beds so uncomfortable.? Hotel rating agencies have a lot to answer for. They rate hotels as comfortable etc... More

This hotel and conference center has a great location: the rocky edge of a pebbles and rocks beach, looking out on a still relatively unspoiled part of the adriatic. The surrounding parks and woods might make for a very leisurely stay. However, the rooms, cramped and low ceilings are badly in need of functional redecoration. Now it is mostly ugly... More

Built on a small promontory about 8 kilometres from Ancona, this hotel would appear to have everything - certainly a secluded restaurant on the water (the food was good but not very imaginative) - but in the absence of good sturdy seashoes to avoid a fall, it was close to impossible to indulge in a relaxed swim since the rocks... My mother and I stayed here in mid September. It was a big treat for my mom who loved it. Part of her 80th birthday present. She loved the patio area. Neither of us are crazy about Italian beaches with the pebbles and water shoes are a must. Vistas were beautiful. I read the other reviews and don't agree -... More

A wonderful little hotel inside the national park. An old, small fort overlooking the approach to the bay has very nicely appointed rooms and excellent service. (Italians are pros at service) We did not eat dinner there, but opt'd for a beach side seafood resturant - Graniche. Good seafood, even out of season. Breakfast was average and included For the... The hotel is pleasant, but the service on check out when we required separate bills was rude and unhelpful. One of my colleagues left eyeglasses, and although we contacted them immediately it is over a week and they have still not shipped them. I would never stay there again. More

This is an amazing hotel! You need taste and not to be slave of the mainstream hotel standards to enjoy what was a real fort (not a fake Vegas kind of) but the small effort is worth 100 times. Your room will have small windows and will not be setup as the usual hilton / marriot stuff. But it will... More

A fantastic setting at the base of the Mountains, with the surf pounding on the sea wall. The initial room we were assigned was pretty pokey and so we were offered an upgrade to a suite for EUR70 per night. I think this was a fairly unsubtle rouse to get us to pay more than the EUR140 rate we got... More

My family and I, two adults two young kids, stayed at this hotel for one night, on our way to Switzerland by car. We absolutely loved it. When you walk in that place you feel like walking back in time. It is a real fortress from the Napoleon era, of course fully remodelled and renovated, but the atmosphere is there.... More

We only visited this hotel for coffee, but we will difinitely return to try it next time. Its in the most wonderful place overlooking the Adriatic and its been restored to reflect its incredible history of Napoleonic times. The staff are attentive and if you need more information check out www.conero.it for a link to their website. More
