We were travelling from England to Livorno in Italy to catch the ferry to Sardinia. We had paused our journey in Gien and travelled towards Italy deciding to go over the mountains rather then under. We have done this journey quite a few times as we have a house in Sardinia, and my husband always wants to vary the journey...

The hotel is comfortable and clean.
Free parking, free ski room, and free WiFi are very good.
There was a problem finding my reservation giving only the name, but when I find the reservation code the problem was resolved in a couple of minutes.

A repeat of our stay at L'isle d'Abeau. No food at the hotel, though this time the receptionist made our group of 10 microwave snacks. I think Ibis are cutting back on staff in their hotels at this itme of year and the restaurant is first to get the heave ho!

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We slept well but had to make sure we kept the bathroom door closed because of the smell of drains.

This really is a superb hotel which we have stayed at many times in the past. The staff are always welcoming and the rooms very comfortable and relaxing with wonderful views of the mountains. Briancon itself is a lovely old town, full of history and with some excellent restaurants.

On first arrival, driving into a somewhat large and bleak car park sat in the middle of a very large and odd shaped road intersection towards the hotel you don't really get a true sense of the hotel or should I say hotels, that make up the Ibis complex. Typical IBIS room, basic and clean with simple breakfast for 7.5 Euros. Good free parking and helpful staff. Watch out for the smoking rooms if you're a non smoker as the smell is overwhelming. We were allocated a smoking room but the staff were very helpful in moving us to a non smoking room without hesitation.
