My Wife and I stayed at Welbeck Manor for the night prior to attending a christening in Sparkwell village. The hotel is set in beautiful countryside, with stunning views over the golf course and fields. I would advise anyone staying here to bear in mind that the hotel is clearly in need of some "tarting" up and TLC, but its... More

Planned a trip to Devon/Cornwall at the last minute and booked Welbeck Manor. Great value for money, John is very accommodating and genuinely seeks to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. The restaurant was quirky to say the least, not a great deal of choice, with the menu being provided on a post it note!; however, the food was... More

Spent three nights and found it comfortable, in a stunning location and the house is grand and has a real feel of a country manor house. Ok it is not five star but clean, warm and large. Good freshly cooked breakfast and the gem that is called John is a real asset to the "Manor". Will go again and try... More

At first glances it reminds you of Fawlty towers, do not let that put you off. They were still improving things when we got there and it was still ace. Had everything we needed in the room, we even decided to stay another night as we were having such a lovely time. We went down there for a wedding and... More

Just had a 2 day break and we were surprised at the price of £45 per night per room including breakfast which was cheaper than the chain hotels in Plymouth. The setting of the manor is superb and the view from the breakfast table was worth the cost alone. Breakfast was okay and the host, John, was very helpful and... More

What a find! We live in Okehampton and joined my fiances parents at Welbeck manor and stayed in room 7 for a night. My fiances parents had booked the room for an incredible price of £30. We didn't check in till around 7pm and were given a nice welcome when we got there, there were other people staying but it... More

The first thing that strikes you, apart from the intricate detailing and finishing within the Brunel house, is the complete peace and quiet, yet you are close to a buzzing city. Lovely full English breakfast, with proper bacon and sausage! John was a very friendly and accomodating host, always humming or singing a tune. The room was standard, and needed... More

Had trouble finding it in the dark. Had dinner there, girl that served us was lovely. Meal was not the reason we came! Night was quiet, slept excellent. Would I come again? On a business trip yes, but not to spoil my wife. More

Not 4*.....But worth more than what you pay. The 'manager' John and crew were excellent hosts from our initial arrival. The room was a little worse for wear, cracks in the door, ceiling, mis-match of furniture, lumpy old mis-sprung bed, but again who is complaining when its £30.00 per room per night inclusive of a good full english breakfast? Who... More
