The accommodation is beautifully situated but we were very disappointed with the facilities provided. The room was adequate in size and clean but there were no tea/coffee making facilities ot Tv or even a glass in the bathroom, all of which one expects in a guest house these days. We found a TV in the lounge but it was non-functioning... More

Myself and a friend stayed in Portfinn for a night before competing in a local race. When we arrived we were shown to our rooms which were a nice size and very well appointed. To say the staff were helpful is a huge understatement, Alex and his staff could not have done more for us. At dinner we requested food... More

Myself and my friend spent 2 nights in Portfinn lodge. What an amazing 2 days it was.We arrived to a lovely welcome and settled into have a cup of tea which was always being offered. The hopitality was just wonderful. But it was the view overlooking the bay in Leenane from both the sitting room and the dining room that... More

I watched a youtube video of the redesign of Portfinn and couldn't wait to see the reality. We were not at all disappointed and the "makeover" has done wonders for both the building and the food. We stayed in Leenane for a week and portfinn provided us with an excellent meal to remember. take a cruise on Killary Harbour to... More

A great experience. From the moment we arrived, we couldn't have been better looked after. The room had everything we wanted and had lovely views. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and we got as much as we asked for! The dinner was great too. I'd highly recommend it to anybody and be sure to do the cruise and stop off... More

I stayed at the Portfinn for only one night while cycling through Connemara. I arrived soaking wet in a storm, looking less than presentable, very early in the season. I was surprised to find that they were booked full because of a local wedding, and that my room was in an adjoining building--on the upper floor above the owner's home.... More

At excetionally short notice, I decided to take a trip west and see the wonderful leenane again. I had expected some of the hotels to be open but unfortunatly I was out of luck. I asked at the local bar if there was any hope of getting a room. Not too long later I got the mobile number for the... More

Wonderful view from our room. Would have been nice to have had a TV as the weather was bad. Had dinner in the restaurant, the early bird menu was very good value. More

This place was the one real disappointment in our visit to Ireland. The rooms were clean, but that was all you could say for them. There was a smell of chip fat combined with a musty smell at the entrance. Thankfuly the room didn't smell, but it was 'tired' and no additions that you should expect for the price -... More
