We spent a week here over Easter and had a wonderful time. There were five of us - my husband and I, our 5 year old son and my parents. We flew into Dublin from London City Airport and we drove to Abhainn Ri in well under an hour. The cottage was immaculate and spacious with lovely comfy beds, a... More

We spent three nights here and really enjoyed it. Although the cottages are within an hour of Dublin, we chose to stay in the neighborhood and enjoyed Blessington and County Kildare along with the property itself. Blessington (a 5-10 minute drive) has plenty of pubs and supermarkets, which was a big plus. It was so peaceful and serene at Abhainn... More

Spent February half term week here. We chose this location as it is not too far away from relatives but just far enough to be tranquil and off the beaten track. The house was very clean with a bathroom for each bedroom. The kitchen has everything you need - including a wonderful welcome gift of soda bread and cake from... More

Just spent a week at Abhainn Ri and would go back in a heartbeat. The location is stunning overlooking the farm and the Poulaphouca Reservoir and onto the Wicklow Mountains beyond, The cottage was extremely comfortable and looked new, even though it is going on 10 years old. The rooms were immaculate and well appointed. The kitchen was well equipped... More

We have just returned from 6 nights stay. We are family of 4 with twin boys 11yrs. The booking through to departing was easy and the owners are supportive always. The cottage is best located in day time the first time you visit but after that you will soon feel right at home negotiating the country roads. As others have... More

We stayed her for a week at Easter. We were unable to travel for Christmas because of extreme weather in UK and so we were able to book an Easter break. What a beautiful spot this is. It was our parents first trip to Ireland and staying here, coupled with nearly perfect weather, ensured a lovely and memorable holiday. Niamh... More

We stayed here for three nights. We only gave it 4/5 for value as there was just the two of us which made it fairly expensive, however the cottage slept at least 6. The Beech cottage had wonderful views and was very very clean. We had lovely walks and enjoyed watching the children feed the animals. Niamh and her husband... More

We are just back from a great family trip to Abhainn Ri in Ballintober Hollywood. We were met by our lovely host Niamh who gave us a truly Irish welcome. There was freshly baked bread and cakes and Easter Eggs for the children. The cottages are like a home away from home. Lovely cosy beds to sink into after a... More

We stayed at Abhainn Ri in January, a family group of 3 generations and from the 70 year old to the 15 year old loved the experience. We arrived in the evening to a wonderful welcome from Niamh including the bread and cakes, which is a lovely touch to start the break. In the morning we had breakfast watching the... More

This certainly was a find. Set in an amazing landscape this is a place to cut yourself off if you want to. We have two children one of which is nearly 14 and just wants the Xbox or the internet and the other is 11. They both loved feeding the animals. Joe and Owen are very patient and have a... More

We are glad you enjoyed your holiday at Abhainn Ri. We have checked your route to booking the cottage and it clearly mentions that electricity / heating charges are extra which is normal for self catering in Ireland. The electricity charges are based on guests usage taken by meter reading and are charged at the standard rate. We feel Abhainn... More
