Title says it all , give this one a miss , if you have to stay in/near Birr plenty of good b&b local and in kinitty. Avoid this place , old dirty and cold Staff obviously not up on importance customer service And were at times blatantly rude More

Dear Sir/Madam, It is very disappointing to read your review of Dooly's Hotel. Yes, the Hotel may be old - in fact the Country's oldest Coaching Inn dating back to 1759. Our Hotel is a listed building in the centre of Georgian Birr & retains many old features. Being an old building, it can be harder to heat but as... More

My husband and I held our wedding here 4 weeks ago . The service and focus we got from everyone from stephen , Paul , Ritchie even down to kevin was second to none . The rooms, food and service was outstanding . They allowed us a private dance in nightclub before it opened as surprise for groom, as we... More

Dear ripli_11 It is with regret you did not enjoy your stay with us recently. There was an extra charge on your Accommodation as there was an additional child on bed & breakfast compares to the initial reservation. You mentioned your room was in need of repair. Our Front Office Team are on duty 24/7 and if reported, would have... More

On paper this hotel looks pretty good, the location is excellent, the car parking facilities brilliant. We stayed for five nights that included the week-end. First impressions were of a tired establishment that could do with a bit of TLC in certain areas, certainly the restaurant and bar had received it but the hall and stair carpets needed replacing. Alarm... More

Dear Wolverhampton, Thank you for taking time to comment on your recent stay, I know the MG Owners Club had a great trip despite the inclement weather!!! In initial correspondence with the group leader, it was highlighted the Hotel was adjacent to a Nite Club. With this in mind, some members of your party requested to be relocated to a... More

Stayed at Dooleys for one night recently on a dinner b & b all inclusive package that was booked by a third party so dont know about its value for money. The hotel rooms were spotless clean and comfortable. There was a tv in the room but there were only a couple of channels working. The food in the hotel... More

On a little tour of a number of counties lately I had the pleasure of staying a night in Doolys of Birr. It looks quite massive from the outside but once inside you discover that it is an 18 bedroom hotel, hence quite small but on the night in question it was full of activity with the local dancing school... Dear Mauraaaaa, Thank you for taking time to review our Hotel. It is great to hear you enjoyed all our facilities on the night. It can be a little busy with dance class for the young aspiring Flatleys & Butlers, Social Dancing with Gerry and local meetings but there is always a buzz about the Hotel on Tuesdays. Our Bar... Called into this restaurant having been recommended by a relative what a disappointment. Staff not very friendly didn't seem bothered that we were sitting at table for neay 20mins without an order taken. We had to get our own menus to see what there was. Then we had to ask for waitress to come to our table to take our... More

Dear Sinmon, Thank you for dining at our Coachouse Bar recently and for taking time to compile this review. The day you dined at the Hotel was particularly busy & it is most unfortunate you did not receive the level of customer service expected. I apologise for this. Your order for Bar Food was taken by a trainee waitress who... More

We didn't know what to expect as we were down during the Vintage Festival but couldn't have asked for better! The staff were extraordinary accomodating and nothing was a hassle with them! The food was very well priced for the great quality recieved! Birr as a town is very sociable and we'll definitely return! More

Was here on a very short stay to attend a concert, but was disappointed. Firstly, the price was too much, for the room we got. Eu99 FAR too expensive, given that we had stayed in many better locations recently at far cheaper rates. Our room looked nothing like what was on the site. It was VERY cramped, there was a... More
