I had stayed at the Tinsley House years earlier and dropped in this time with no reservation. Really, at approximately 6 p.m., my friend and I rolled into Cahir and rang the door bell to ask if they had a vacancy. Liam said that they were not yet open for the season, but he decided to let us stay nonetheless.... More

This B&B was very musty and smelly. Furniture and beds are worn out and very cold. My allergies went crazy the night I stayed. Also no tea or breakfast offered in the morning. B&B seem like nice people but really need to put more effort with customer care and cleanliness. Will not be going back.

stayed with my wife and two kids on the 22nd of September. Had a peaceful sleep and a nice breakfast , the only thing better about the place was it's location and the owners great interest in history of the area. p.s the Swiss Cottage is a hidden gem .

Stayed with my grown up family in Tinsley House B/B on Sept 15th 2012. This house is old dusty, smells musty with worn carpets and very uncomfortable beds. On arrival we were greeted by the owner telling us that breakfast was over at 9.30am and checkout 11am sharp on a Sunday morning. Asked for an iron which never turned up... More

Stayed at Tinsley House in Cahir with my wife on March 3rd & 4th 2012. I found the location of Tinsley house to be brilliant, easy & safe parking outside. Found the room to be warm and perfect for what we wanted. The owners Liam and Patricia couldn't have been nicer and made our trip. I'm interested in history and... More

I should have listened to a review of Tinsley's but I chose it for convenience sake which convenient it definitely is. That is where the benefits end, however. It is musty smelling, the furniture is worn and the sitting room furniture sags to the floor when sat in. The room was so poorly heated that I mentioned it twice to... More

My husband and I spent three days in Cahir, looking for records of my great-great grandparents who had lived in the surrounding area. We chose Tinsley House because I had read in previous Trip Advisor reviews that proprietor Liam Roche was interested in local history and friendly and willing to share information with his guests. We were certainly not disappointed.... More

My partner and I stayed here for one night. Looking at the other reviews, it seems likely that we were given one of the smaller rooms, as ours was quite small with just enough space to have a few feet around the bed and corners to pile our stuff. The house is a bit old and musty-smelling (I can imagine... More

My father and I spent two nights at Tinsley House and found it a great location from which to see the local sites. Several good pubs within a few yards. Every thing was first rate. There is a nice lounge with tea and biscuits which provides a pleasant location to relax.

Tinsley House is a Bed and Breakfast, right on the square in Cahir. It was clean, comfortable and had all that we needed, including our first stand up shower! A delicious Irish breakfast set us up for the day. We went to Cahir to track down my grandparents. Liam Roche, our B&B owner, was very helpful to me. He told... More
