Tierneys is very centrally located, a short walk from the harbour, tourist information, pubs and restaurants. The rooms are clean but small. Breakfast was served in the attaching cafe, available by voucher. Food service was slow, but the food was nicely presented and I enjoyed a lovely muesli - we only had a choice between a cooked breakfast or cereal... More

Thank you so much for a most enjoyable stay... We stayed 2 nights and were given great tourist information whilst checking in. What more could you ask for, extremely central location, comfortable clean room, class power shower, gorgeous breakfast & very nice helpful staff at a very good price compared to everyone else in the same location. The staff also... More

Friendly staff in reception. Good location. Food good although long wait to receive it. Room small. Mould around wet windows and damp on walls and quite dirty around radiator. Bathroom too small. Frayed towels. Shocked to find electricity socket hanging from wall. What isn't mentioned is the very loud music playing opposite which kept us awake until the early hours.... More

Stayed one night whilst attending another 50th birthday. Room was adequate size with a very comfortable queen size bed (had a great nights sleep). Bright and clean decor, though must have been recently repainted as there was a slight hint of fresh paint odour. Nothing that an open window would not sort out. Our room was No6 and overlooking the... More

Had a nice room- small, but with a view of the back garden area. Breakfast was wonderful with choices beyond the Irish full breakfast. Staff very helpful with suggestions and making reservations. Only downside- new pub across the street- a little noisy at night. More

We stayed 2 nights in June 2011 and enjoyed the comfortable beds and friendly service. The breakfast was delicious in a great restaurant. Rooms were small but very clean and although located on the main street, we slept well and had no problems with street noise. WE came back for another night in July. More

Can only advise people to stay away. Guesthouse is over a cafe with an Indian restaurant next door. First night we were in a small room at the back and the smell probably from the kitchens was overpowering, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and you had to turn sideways to get into the en-suite. Next morning we moved to a... More
