I had always liked the look of this guesthouse and decided to take my mother there as a treat in January. I was disappointed. Our room was shabby. One of the faded curtains had come away from the rail and was hanging down. Despite the best efforts of the friendly lady who checked us in I found the place cold ,... More

My fiancee booked a 2 night stay here midweek earlier this month as a birthday/valentines treat. It was a surprise and truth be told I have only ever been interested in staying in hotels, as this was a guesthouse I wasn't overly enthusiastic upon arrival. However I have never been so wrong to judge something so quick. From check in... More

Spent three nights here and overall it was a good experience. Not perfect but what is?! It was a package offer. Two nights B&B with one dinner to value of €60 plus two glasses of wine plus one night B&B free all for €198. Super value! On our first night we had a 'non-smoking' room at the front - room... More

Stayed for 1 night in October 2011 with my husband (for our wedding anniversary) and our (tragically) seriously ill baby. I was upset and uneasy when we were contacted by the Blue Haven (sister hotel), where we had made reservations, advising there was an over-booking but that the Old Bank House (down the street) could accommodate us. As it was... More

Stayed here midweek in early december. Arrived between 6 o clock and7 which worked well as parking is free from 6pm until 10.30 am. Also after 7pm you have to check in at the Blue Haven Hotel . Room 9 , on 3rd floor, overlooks the street and has side views of the water. Room Is smallish but is very... More

We would absolutely recommend this hotel. Great location. We can not understand the bad reviews at all. In our opinion the hotel is not run down or tired looking. Room 17 was very big with lovely views out of the windows. Jana checked us in and out and she was most helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. We loved the... More

Apart from the location of this Guest House/Hotel there is nothing attractive about this hotel. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the room/ bathroom was clean. The breakfast was one of the worst i've had in a long time. The staff were pleasant, but I would not recommend. More

I always think first impressions are important. We had booked the best room in the house (aparently) The Collection Suite. I don't know if it was that we are a gay couple but the reception from staff was frosty. It happens sometimes unfortunately and we tend to ignore it unless it is really bad so we got on with booking... More

The Old Bank House is a great place to stay in Kinsale. It's location is ideal, it is decorated nicely, the staff is great, and the breakfast is wonderful. My sister and I were in room #2. It is in the back of the hotel and quite large. More
