Must be the best b&b among a half-dozen we stayed in. Lovely room with well thought out amenities; excellent breakfast with quality ingredients; and as gracious and accomodating a hostess as one would wish. More

we stayed three nights and were WOW'd with the whole experience. this B&B has the WOW factor and Frances McDonagh is the master of ceremonies. exceptionally well decorated house with lots of paintings, antiques, sculptures and 4 poster beds (in most rooms). We received a great welcome from Frances, then tea and home made treats in the beautiful sitting room... More

I first came across this B & B on TV-At Your Service. I then suggested it as a weekend away for a group of friends. We had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend it! The house is beautiful, luxurious and so tastefully decorated with antiques, books, and curiosity pieces. Every room has its own charm, many have four... More

For anyone who likes the decor and scennery from Downton Abbey this is as close as most of us are likely to get and yet its better. We arrived on a Friday night at 11Pm and were met by the owner offering us tea and rhubarb crumble :-) The smell of fresh brown bread was flowing through the house and... More

Seems like an outlandish statement, but it's true. The house is beautiful. The room (the Red room) was sumptuous, with it's gorgeous, enormous four poster bed and roll top bath. The breakfast was really mouthwatering (the home made ginger and rhubarb jam was *particularly* lovely). By far the best part of the stay however was the warm and very friendly... More

My Wife and I and our 2 girls (8 and 10) stayed in this wonderful B&B and it was absolutely fabulous from the great warm hospitality from start to finish. Frances greeted each of us to her beautiful house by name from our initial booking and we were shown into the drawing room and enjoyed tea and biscuits in front... More
