I visited Lea Hall with my adult daughter, as she lives in the North and I in the South, Matlock was the ideal area to meet. It was dark when we were looking for the property, and did experience difficulty in finding it. It is not well lit, or signed when day light has disappeared. However, the welcome we received... More

Thank you for taking the time to give Lea a review, we understand your view or not as the case may be with the room you were allocated, we would have been happy to move you if it was at all possible, and always take note of any special requests for showers etc. More

We stayed as a large group at Lea Hall - using all of the bedrooms on a self-catering basis. We found that the kitchen was not what we expected - it is completely stainless steel - not quite the "beamed kitchen" we were expecting from the English Country cottages website description. It has plenty of fridge space but no storage... More

We were not surprised to receive this review, despite viewing our property twice prior to arrival. The reviewer whom had made the booking through a well-known agent, complained in writing to the agent before even taking up residence at the property. At this point the reviewer was offered a full refund or relocation, which was refused, instead choosing to go... More

We had a fantastic stay at Lea Hall, the property itself is far more impressive than any of the photos suggest and is dripping with character and quirky touches which we loved. If you are a fan of old buildings, National Trust or English Heritage and are looking for that certain special experience that transports you back in time -... More

Stayed here for my husbands Birthday. It is not your typical hotel,bb, but is an alternative to the norm. The house is old and quirky and the floors in the bedroom dip, which all add to the charm of the place. There is no reception area and you need to ring ahead . Lolly who greeted us and runs the... I concur with the majority of other guests on the quality of service, the interesting rooms and breakfast, so won't go into further detail. If your ideal accommodation is cloned rooms with everything precise and square, then maybe this place is not for you, and certainly tall people need to make allowances to accommodate themselves in a building where bedroom... To appreciate this lovely old historic building you will have to appreciate the quirks expected that go with this lovely old house. A priviige to visit and stay, we had a lovely time with champagne and chocs on arrival and hot chocolate and shortbread early evening which was a special touch on a special occasion. The staff were lovely and... More

We were a little dubious when we pulled up to Lea Hall - it is set in the coutryside and is very....atmospheric (think Mr Darcy, or Mrs. Haversham) But we couldn't have recieved a warmer welcome from Lolly and Steve and they were absolutely spot on with wonderful service our entire visit. The beds were beyond comfortable and we had... More

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Lea Hall and would thoroughly recommend it. It is in a quiet setting and all that can be heard in the evening is birdsong, which is beautiful. The bedroom was full of character, with a large and comfortable bed. Nice bathroom too and everything was meticulously clean. We went on... More

It is what is claims to be a lovely old country hall with rooms. The bed was so large and comfortable we found it hard to get out for breakfast each morning. It was nothing like a large 4 star hotel stay, quiet and peacefull with no one rushing about which meant you could relax anywhere around the hall. Breakfast... More

I have just returned from a most enjoyable weekend stay at Lea Hall. Each room was quite individual with a lovely shabby chic feel. The bed was very comfortable, perfect pillows all lovely and clean. I stayed in room 5 which I found to be cute and just perfect. The head room could be a problem for taller guests but... More
