Seven of us called in for lunch today without a reservation. The food was excellent value for the very reasonable price, and the table service quick and very enthusiastic! Parking is limited on busy days, but there is a large short/long stay park (pay) not far off by the river. We will go again.

We stopped here for one night after a day out in Bakewell. When it came to parking we were told that shoppers used the car park illegally and we would have to wait until they went home - no deterents were visible - very poor car park management. Our room (4) is located over a very noisy kitchen, which is... More

We booked for a walking trip and only stayed one night and as soon as I arrived there were no spaces in the inn's car park (it was 1.20pm). When asking bar staff about alternative parking we were told it was "luck of the draw" and that there were plenty of car parks in Bakewell (all the ones with spaces... More

We booked two rooms at the castle inn over the Easter weekend to go walking in the area. From start to finish- the staff at the castle inn were friendly welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. The pub and accomomdation are both very dog friendly. For an extra £5 we added a full English breakfast to our room bill... More

We stayed there Easter weekend with friends. We were told that the place had recently changed hands (the current owners only being there a few weeks). The rooms were spacious and clean. Excellent value for money- bed, breakfast and evening meal were all very reasonably priced. A warm and friendly welcome from all the staff. It is also dog friendly... More

Came here for lunch on a recent visit to the Peak District. We chose it for lunch because it was dog friendly and it looked appealing from outside. Very friendly staff behind the bar, we were made to feel welcome and the house wine was really good. The menu was interesting and when the food came it was tasty and... More

The Castle Inn is a friendly, cosy, busy place. We stayed for two nights. Our room and en-suite were clean and spacious. Our bed was large and comfortable with crisp, white sheets. Tea and coffee were replenished. We were given fresh towels after the first night. There was a hair dryer, and a TV with good reception and access to... More

From the welcome we were given on arrival to the farewell on leaving, we thoroughly enjoyed our short break at the Castle. The breakfasts were excellent (wonderful sausages!) and the fillet steaks in the evening were superb. We loved the decor of the bar and restaurant; cosy, warm and comfortable. There is a great range of well kept real ale... More

This was the first time my husband and i had been to the Peak District area. There are currently four rooms at the Castle Inn . All have allocated parking space in car park. Our room was a good average and served the purpose. we understood from the current manager that the rooms are due for a revamp following the... More

We recently stayed the night at The Castle Inn on the way to Lindisfarne, We could not fault the staff or the food, we both had steak and ale pie which was delicious and the staff were attentive but not pushy. However the bathroom in our room left a lot to be desired. We were in room 4, the shower... More
