After reading the reviews we decided to stay here for a few days for a walking holiday. As soon as we entered the garden we were warmly welcomed by Christine. The room was comfortable with a great hospitality tray. Although the room wasn't ensuite the facilities were still private. With the more than hearty breakfasts to start the day and... More

Christine gave us a great welcome to her wonderful home. Rather than just repeating what other reviewers have said , here are some of the special features. Castle Hill Farm House is very picturesque and Christine has worked hard to create a beautiful garden. The location is very close to Bakewell so you can just walk to the centre of... More

From the second we stepped through the gate into the best kept garden in the peak district we were offered Tea and home-made cake in the blazing sunshine. The bedroom was clean and tidy and the food was brilliant (great veggie sausages!), customer service was warm, friendly and attentive. The MOST amazing part of the stay we had with Christine... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay with Christine at her beautiful 17th century home. I agree with everything others have said re the high standard of accomodation and food. I especially, loved the Bakewell pudding which i had never tasted before. After Christine's big, nourishing and extremely filling breakfast and afternoon teas, we never had room for an evening... This was a flying visit for us and mores the pity as staying at Castle Hill Farm House was just a pleasure. The "full English" breakfast was the best I can remember and the only downside was that I couldn't eat it all. My wife and I were discussing the relative merits of guest houses and comparing Castle Hill with... More

From the moment we arrived we were looked after beautifully. Our room was cosy and inviting with lots of little extras added to make our stay comfortable. Everything was spotless and the bathroom large with a bath tub. The breakfasts were superb and better than 5 star! It was a real pleasure to stay here. The B&B is ideally situated... More

We have just returned from a couple of wet days in Bakewell . This is about the only thing that Christine , the owner , has been unable to sort out ! The accommodation is quaint , warm and comfortable and Christine is eager to please and her attention to detail is admirable . Personally we don't like en-suite bathrooms... More

My partner and I spent 2 days towards the end of March in lovely Bakewell. We were received by Christine with warmth and friendliness, including afternoon tea with clotted cream and scones! The breakfast also is just wonderful. The accomodation is great, central and clean. Christine is very kind and helpful, even offering us mountainside rescue should we get stuck... More

We had an excellent stay. Christine is a perfect host. She thought we were vegans (instead of vegetarians) and provided us with soy milk, soy butter (the best we've ever tasted) and had made sure that the small snacks in our room were egg and milk free. Christine gave us great tips on good hiking trails and served afternoon tea... More

My partner and I have just returned back from a night's visit at the Castle Hill Farm House, and already we cannot wait to return! We arrived about an hour before the check-in time of 2pm, but Christine welcomed us into her lovely home. We stayed in room 2, which was decorated lovely, and really comfortable. It had all the...
