We arrived a party of 6 after a few hours strolling around Bath to spend New Year's Evening and overnight stay at The Methuen Arms. We were warmly greeted by Debbie and Martin, the atmoshere as you entered the Bar area was very friendly and although staff were busy preparing for the evening they still had the time to make... My partner and I eat here fairly regularly as we live within walking distance and it was the second year running we have been to the Methuen Arms for New Year Eve. Debbie, Martin & the team put on a great event and are fantastic hosts. The atmoshphere was just right, more like a private house party especially the queing... More

We spent a lovely Sat night , Sunday morning at the Methuen arms and totally enjoyed it ! The staff were very pleasant, welcoming and enthusiastic . Our room was comfortable and very tastefully fitted and decorated . It was also peaceful which these days can be a rarity. The wife and I enjoyed a superb three course meal in... More

We chose the Sunday Steal offer for dinner, bed and breakfast, which was pretty reasonable value. Room 3 was very nice with a roll top bath in the room as well as a huge shower in the bathroom. Traffic noise was a minor irritation in the morning but not enough to mark the overall experience down. Dinner was very good,... More

The methuen changed hands around a year ago and I feel sincerely disappointed I have only just discovered how fantastic everything was there. Incredible value for money with a 3 course meal for two including alcoholic drinks for under £85! This doesn't mean they have sacrificed a thing as the decor was classy and relaxed with superb wine selection. The... More

We stayed at the Methuen Arms for two nights in November to celebrate our anniversary. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel - the staff were friendly and professional, good rooms; very clean and fresh hotel. Breakfasts were great! The restaurant was excellent and the prices seemed reasonable for the quality (not sure if the prices have come... More

I have eaten here three of four times in 2011, on the advice of my hairdresser(!), and this is a real destination hotel/restaurant and a welcoming local pub. The owners used to own the highly rated Pear Tree in nearby WhItley, at it's peak with Stephen Terry as chef, and they know how to run a high yet yet relaxing... More
