Mourne Lodge is a little hard to find but well worth the search. We had a huge room and the lounge area is enormous compared to other B n Bs. But the main reason to go there is to meet the host Mairead. She is a wonderful source of local information and such a helpful person. When my wife became... More

A warm welcome, from Mairead, a comfortable hostel and a great location for walking. It was brilliant to be able to start some of our favourite walks only ten minutes drive from the hostel. We will definitely return

Thoroughly enjoyed our one night visit. As we were the only guests at the time were able to share a more-than-adequate breakfast with our host as well as a lovely chat. Had time not been an issue, we would have stayed longer. Great value.

Spent three nights in double room at Mourne Lodge. Ideally situated for hiking in the Mourne mountains, right next door to post office/garage/shop for buying groceries and postcards. Lovely well equipped kitchen, super comfortable beds, great showers will definitely be going back. Mairead runs it very well. Our ground floor room had a wet room and grab rails and seat... More

My sister and I stayed in August 2012, great visit. We found it on Hotels.com and was looking for a place near the Mourne Mountains. We wanted to find a location close to the Fiddler on the Green festival in August. The best part of staying here was to find out we were helping the local community.

My partner and I spent the weekend hiking the Mourne Mountains and we stayed at this conveniently situated lodge. The Mourne Lodge had everything we could have wished for, a fresh clean bedroom and toilet, hot shower and very comfortable beds with spotless linen. It had a large, well stocked, self catering kitchen/dining area, along with a spacious TV area... More

Thank you so much for this wonderful review, all the hardwork we do as volunteers and paid staff seems to pay off. We certainly look forward to having you... More

I spent 3 restful and peaceful nights in this comfortable, homely hostel. My aim was to go hillwalking in the surrounding mountains in order to discover this beautiful part of the country for myself. The maps and circuits provided by the hostel were perfect and I spent the first day hiking up to Lough Shannagh along the Banns Road and... More

Lovely welcome and service but we were cold in the public areas that were not heated. Was not the cleanest hostel we have ever stayed in.
