We took advantage of a DB&B deal and every aspect of our 2 night stay was excellent. Why cannot Jen review early May 2012 stand up for herself!!!!!!!!!!!! TELL them she knows the hotel, stay there a lot and want a better room AWAY from the extractor fans of the kitchen. Her experience is diametrically opposite to our own. The... More

We bought a short break through KGB Deals & for the money we paid we didnt expect too much -just a base to explore Carmarthen really.Check in was pleasant & speedy, our room was spacious & well equiped with a comfy kingsize bed so we were happy. We ventured downstairs to the bar area & were pleasantly surprised to find plenty... More

I have stayed at this hotel countless times for business. I only continue to stay here because it is close to work in the morning and I like the extra time in bed. Considering the number of times I have been here, I find it unbelievable that reception do not acknowlege this and I have to endure the same long... More

I've stayed at the Ivy Bush a few times over the years and it hasn't changed much. The staff are friendly enough but daily servicing of the rooms isn't good. There's a good sized car park but beware if there's a function it can be tricky to find a place. The rooms have Freesat but there it only appears to... More

Stayed here for two weeks in January and found it to be a most pleasant hotel. Ample parking, super friendly staff, very nice rooms and deliciously comfortable beds. Food is good, if slightly on the expensive side, and breakfast ampe - shame about the poor sausages though! Highly recommend this hotel!

I gave it another go hoping they would have improved. The restaurant and kitchen service is still unprofessional and the dishes are overpriced for the standard of cooking. The fillet steak (£20) was of low quality and served up mainly with a pile of fat chips: pub cooking at fancy prices. The accommodation is budget with thin walls and noise... More

The lack of entertaiment was a let down we went with a coach party for 4 nights Monday to Friday and on Wednesday night they told us that there would be entertaiment so we gearded ourselfs up, and low and behold it was a person playing the piano which sent alot of the older people to sleep. Then on Thursday... More

This hotel had good sized rooms, and a desk to work at if you needed to. There was plenty of storage/hanging space, comfortable bed and lovely bathroom, with nice tiling detail. The shower was powerful and hot water good. The one draw back perhaps was the bar closing quite early for this type of hotel.

Reception On arrival at 21.15 we waited in reception for over 10 minutes with no sign of anyone, (no desk bell) a member of bar staff saw me through the windows, but did not do anything, when I went to the bar that was also empty as was the restaurant in the end went back outside and rang the night... We stayed at this hotel for one night during November 2011. It is a comfortable hotel with plenty of places to sit around to read, relax have a quiet drink or have a bar meal. The staff were excellent and were only too happy to help and seemed eager to make our stay a comfortable one. We stayed in room... More
