Only to be reached by boat (or by scooter if you would), met by friendly staff a wonderful secluded resort awaited us. One can choose between a nice little house or a full Balinese cottage, Bale included. We enjoyed the privacy and space of our cottage ('Villa') equipped with a rather out of place modern bath tub. Most of all,... More

We arrived to Waka Shorea a little bit concerned from some comments read on Trip Asdvisors about cleanness of rooms and animals (rats) inside the room. Fortunately all our concerns disappeared after few hours of our stay: the environment was pretty clean, a lot of staff personnel ready to help always available, a very nice swiming pool and spa, and... Isolated and unique location, friendly staff, very nice cottages in the national park. Damaged reef in front of the hotel, with free snorkling and canoeing equipment from the hotel. Travellers should realise that the resort is located in the national park, including its inhabitants like monkeys, deer and wild pigs and far away from a nearby village. The food and... More

After a long trip from Jakarta and the busy environment in Java, we finally found a beautiful place to rest and enjoy the nature. Snorkeling, laying on the beach, trekking through the mangrove forest and plenty of animals for your entertainment. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Next time we visit Bali we will stay for a longer period. More

This place is amazing, just check out the foto's online. It is really like that. The staff is friendly but not very enthousiastic (they should train them better). But who cares, look where you are!! More

Stayed here with friends, loved the 'cabins' but I think a few dollars need to be spent for this to actually be defined as a resort. Most things are a little run down, perhaps it is designed to be 'shabby chic'. Little too much shabby not enough chic methinks. The staff are all very sweet but additional training is required,... The resort is immersed in nature, which could be a good thing if done properly. However, the walkways from the restaurant/beach to the rooms are made of concrete and there is no landscaping whatsoever. Everything is pretty run down, the rooms feel old and have stained, scratched sinks/toilets. Apart from the rooms there is very little public space: a tiny... More

A stay at Waka Shorea starts with a warm greeting at reception and then a short boat ride to the to the resort proper. The secluded atmosphere is restfull and the wild animals ( Black monkeys, Asian pigs, deer, butterflies) provide entertainment. There's a really nice saltwater pool and tea in the afternoon. Diving is a major attraction here. The... More

The waka shorea is quite special because it is in national park so it is completely alone in the forest, it is nice but when the hotel is a litlle bit empty (as was our case) and with all the warnings about the surrounding animals it can also get a little bit freaky. We were stunned by the room(s), we... More
