We bought 4 friends to Llangattock for the first time - my wife and I have stayed many times before. Our stay was up to the usual standard excellent in every way - we will be back soon. Great buzz in the hotel all weekend but everyone taken care of by Sean - a fantastic host Trevor and Kate -... More

A friend organised a walking weekend and booked this hotel for a large group of us and it was a very pleasant surprise! The room and ensuite were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel - fresh berries, a choice of pastries and cereals, plus a fully cooked breakfast. Our... More

We hosted our annual dinner at the Old Rectory for a second time this last weekend. The food, service and accommodation was excellent. The event went like clock work and was enjoyed by everyone in our group. I would recommend the Old Rectory to any of my friends and family. Helen Farr

Another wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The hotel was extremely busy but this made no difference to the excellent standard of service provided by Shaun and his staff. We had lunch and evening meal, both of which were beautifully presented. Just wish I could move in permanently and eat here every day! The room was stunning with views across... More

From the moment we stepped into the hotel I felt we'd come to somewhere special. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and obliging. The quality of the food was superb, and there was plenty of it. Our room was immaculate, with the most comfortable bed, and stunning scenery to wake up to. To sum up our stay, it was akin... More

Above the door into the bar is a sign that reads 'welcome to our home'. This sentiment resonates throughout the hotel, dining room and indeed your stay. We were made so welcome and comfortable it really felt like we were coming home. The standard of the rooms and food was quite exceptional. The 9 hole golf course was great fun!

I was staying as part of a large (about 30) group of walkers. We had a very comfortable stay midweek for 4 nights. Excellent food and excellent service from this family run hotel. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area if the weather is not good for walking (we had high winds). Thanks to everyone at the hotel... More

Lots of good points here but also disappointing in some respects. Food great but service sometimes inexplicably slow. No marmalade or brown bread at breakfast seems odd for a hotel of this quality. Friendly, accommodating staff who sometimes failed to deliver what they offered; the invitation to request a newspaper was nice but the paper did not materialise and there... More

An excellent hotel. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff who couldn't do enough to please, excellent food and plenty of it. Lots of excellent walks from the door in beautiful countryside. Couldn't recommend enough. A memorable weekend.

We booked one of the new suites with jacuzzi bath. On arrival, we were impressed by the facade of the premises. On entering however, we were falling over workmen laying carpets and the reception was closed. We entered the large bar area to find reception had moved here due to the work. We were a little early and told our... More
