I booked a room here over three months ago and the hotel emailed me six days before we were due to arrive, to cancel it. No explanation. No apology. Just one sentence "We are unable to accommodate you for Saturday 26 May. Please contact us to arrange an alternate date." Are they serious? How can a hotel treat guests in... More

Just returned after a two night stay at the Kingscliff Hotel. The place is going through a few changes at the moment with being under new management, so menu limited etc, but we ate in on the Friday night, had a three course meal which although not a huge selection, what my husband and i choose was a really enjoyable... My husband and I stayed at the Kingscliff hotel recently booked through Groupon. It was a really friendly, welcoming hotel. The rooms were great and the views were amazing. The food was great too! Would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay again. More

We stayed at the Kingscliff for our honeymoon. The manager, Marian went above & beyond to make our stay perfect. He even upgraded our room at a discount when he discovered we were newlyweds. All the staff, especially Marian & Stuart were so welcoming & friendly. I would totally recommend this hotel..it was faultless. More

We booked this hotel through a Groupon. My Dad used to holiday in Clacton on Sea as a child so we thought it'd be rather nice for him to go back! The hotel is nice and modern inside, the furnishings wouldn't look out of place in a London hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful: even carrying our bags... More

Stayed for 2 nights recently with a Groupon deal. Wasn't sure what to expect as varied reviews, but from the outset we received great customer service. Sarah greeted us at Reception, always had a lovely smile on her face & was able to sort out a minor problem when we arrived swiftly & efficiently. Our room was slightly tired &... More

I lived in the area for over 30yrs so I have seen the hotel through many reincarnations. I am happy to say that this is the best it has ever been! The booking process was very user friendly with Stewart even providing me with weather information. We arrived Sunday evening to find the restaurant closed - this was our only... More

We recently chose The Kingscliff hotel as the venue to host our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. We met with the Operations Manager Marian to talk through our requirements and he was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the booking process. His cheeky sense of humour and continued reassurances helped put us at ease and alleviated any worries we had about everything... More

Stayed for one night. The newly refurbished, well appointed sea view room was superb, a good size, comfortable double bed and very clean. We ate from the a la carte menu in the restaurant and both our choices were well presented and tastily cooked and coupled with a comprehensive wine list it was nice. I would have liked to have... Everything was fine. Nice old building with mahogany furniture and old print pictures. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, all very clean. The staff were friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was good, all English, but a bit odd to see one plate of croissants for the continental guests. One minor point: thorn net curtains what made it look a bit shabby. We certainly... More
