We booked very late, not sure of exactly what we wanted for a buffet reception with drinks where the numbers were a touch uncertain. Tarn House said, with absolute confidence "Don't worry, we know how to do this." And they did. The food was excellent, the staff were attentive without being pushy, the forgetful elderly and the exuberant toddlers were... More

My wife and I booked in the Tarn for a meal and we should have booked to stay in the Hotel but left it to late because it was full. On our approach to the Tarn we found that it looked very inviting and when we arrived they had an open fire going which was nice. Before our meal we... More

Stayed at the Tarn House Hotel recently with a group of friends - a lovely relaxing break enhanced by the service which was friendly and helpful. From the minute we arrived and were shown to our rooms - which were clean, comfortable spacious. to the lunch we had (with amazing home made chips!) in the Bar next to a roaring... More

Stayed at Tarn House on Saturday with some friends. It was great to spend some time with friends, but the trip was also much enhanced by wonderful surroundings, excellent staff and good food... The hotel is in a great location, about 20 minutes walk from Skipton (or just under £5 in a taxi). The staff were very friendly and attentive.... More

This weekend was my first trip to Tarn House. The location was just breathtaking. We had the added bonus that is started to snow as we arrived. The food was just lovely, whether it was a bar snack next to a roaring open fire or our evening meal in the restaurant, the food and service was perfect. (and I am... More

My husband and I arrived at the Tarn House Country Inn on 31 October 2011 for 2 nights. We stayed there as a mixed celebration for our 2nd wedding anniversary, and for our sons' (aged just 7 weeks) first "holdiay". The private road leading up to the inn was a beautiful drive; plenty of wildlife along the way. I was... More

We thank you for your comments which are most helpful. We appreciate your idea for the baby bottle warmers and will purchase them so they will be available for future guests. In relation to the kettle and hot water, our water is sourced from a natural spring and though it is filtered it can be hard, we will endeavour to... More

Not immediately obvious is that Tarn House is in the centre of an extensive static caravan site. Reason enough, perhaps, for a descerning guest to look elsewhere. We visited out of season and the place was quiet, but in season, I would surmise the hotel gets very busy and noisy with the nearby caravan population. The bedrooms are clean and... More

Firstly we would like to thank you for your comments, in response to earlier requests we have now introduced a restaurant menu, so customer can either enjoy traditional pub fayre or a restaurant style meal. We apologise again for the incident with the chicken, although we do not make mistakes very often we do try to rectify them straight away.... More

We booked this hotel via a late site as we wanted an overnight stay near Skipton. The directions are clear and we found it easily. One thing they don't tell you is that the land on which it is situated is largely given over to a caravan park and that the "hotel" doubles as the office for the park. The... More
