This place is uninhabitable and should not be operating. Filthy milk, I think, stains splashed on the wall, the aircon was dusty as f#%% on top, the milk (I went and bought my own mug) was a year out of date and curdled, all 3 quilt covers had cigarette burns and stains, looked like they weren’t washed!! The curtains had filthy big stains on them… for god sake buy some new ones!!! The smoke alarm was hanging open with no batteries not even operational. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep last night, there was no way I was lying on those beds!! Who knows what those stains are!!! Ugh!!! I had a friend bring me down a bedsheet and comforter so I did get two hours sleep. AND THEN!! Three cop cars rocked up at 3am, there was a domestic downstairs!!! Definitely won’t be staying here again!!

Last weekend I was in Melbourne performing at a Festival in Footscray. The Festival Organiser had booked me and my husband, abd two other performers into the Palms Motel in Footscray. We went into our room. A very musty smell assailed our nostrils. There was only one bath towel, so my husband went in search of a second towel. The room did not appear to have been cleaned. The sheets and pillowcases were gray and did not appear to have been washed. The bspathroom was very old and again, dirty. I wished I had not taken out my thongs. No way could I have stood barefoot in that shower. There was a flat screen TV but I could not work out how to turn it on. The best were long having space (open wardrobe) and a full length mirror. There were two grubby plastic mugs and tea / coffee bags. My husband returned. We decided we could not stay and checked out (along with the other two performers who felt the same way about the motel as us ). Unless you are desperate, find alternative accommodation. It upis definitely not three star accommodation.

Absolutely disgusted as written to the booking agent who should remove this listing immediately. Good morning booking .com staff, I would like to voice my concern about this property I will departing today after just one night. I arrived yesterday and paid in full upon arrival for 3 nights. I proceeded to the room to drop bags to make my way to Melbourne City. On return to the room I made a decision to vacate on waking. I pulled back the bedding and refused to sleep on the sheets that are stained. I have found numerous hairs (from others than me) on the sheets, it appears that the sheets have not been changed. In addition to this there are numerous concerns about the legislated requirements that relate to emergency evacuation procedures. I am also tired because of lack of sleep due to the worry of the maintenance of the property the major concern is the electric supply cut off / cut in (operated by inserting door key tag). It has been flashing whilst glowing orange the entire night. I also tried to contact reception as I had people talking on the balcony until half way through the night. I am totally disgusted that this property is even listed as 5/10. I will make a point of reading reviews and carrying out a thorough room check anytime from here on out when and if ever booking again through your site. I will be seeking a refund for the remaining nights and returning to a property some 100kms away that I know is clean and safe. On the refund side of things the following 2 nights were refunded without fuss.

I am apalled such an establishment is allowed to continue a service to the public in the state that it is in. I booked this motel through expedia and feel they too should have a responsibility of care to the consumer. This motel is not worthy of patronage, it is like commissioned housing where rooms look to be occupied by long term tenants with dirty sheets and clothing hanging out of windows. I did not sit on any of the furniture while their, we entered the room and exited immediately it was inbearable. The smell and dirtyness was not worthy of $135.00 a night. It was that bad my husband and I got back from the function we were attending to vacate immediately in the night for a one hr trip home at 2.30am. Lesson to self, always read reviews before booking anywhere.

I wouldn't stay here again. This motel is legit dodgy. There's a lot of junkie guests and I was woken up by a domestic happening. I drove out after checking out and there's just a bunch of trashy people constantly hanging around the place and getting up for their morning ciggie staring at you as you go. Also, the room was just so depressing, honestly. You could genuinely feel like so many bad things have happened in this place. It was horrible.

Due to lots of travelling, I have stayed in a multitude of motels in my time. The Palms Motel in Footscray would have to be the most disgusting motel I’ve ever stayed in. I was in three different rooms in one night! The first room, I opened the door and took one step in and came straight back out again. The smell that hit me was like someone had thrown up on the carpet and it had just been cleaned up, not “cleaned”. The second room had a musty smell but was tolerable for one night. The carpet had stains all over it, the walls were gouged and marked and the room was overall shabby. I pulled the sheet back and found multiple stains on the bottom sheet and quickly pulled the sheet back up. I intended to sleep on top of the blanket and under the quilt as there was no way I was getting into that bed! The guy that worked there came to my room a little while later and said he had a much nicer room available if I wanted to see it. I did! I packed up my things and moved to the third room. The third room was much nicer aesthetically but, again, when I pulled the sheet back there were hairs and crumbs in the bed. You guessed it, I slept on top of the blanket and under the quilt. I had just travelled for seven hours, I wasn’t moving again. I’d had my shower and closed the door of the bathroom when I went to bed. When I got up in the morning to go to the bathroom the walls were absolutely covered with a couple of hundred mosquitos! Could not wait to get out of the place!!!! To expedite things as I was going to my Uncle’s funeral the next day, I paid the $100 upon arrival (before seeing any of these rooms). Obviously, if I’d seen any of these rooms first I definitely would have stayed elsewhere.

We had to find somewhere to stay late at night & ended up in this dive. There were no towels, were given some on request. Tried not to touch anything as everything was so dirty.Shady looking people wandering around & a man yelling outside the door made us feel unsafe. We paid $125 for the night. A valuable lesson learned "READ REVIEWS" before booking.

We thought we were in a bad movie. Our "family" room had the right amount of beds but that was where the description ended. The rooms were not filthy but they weren't clean either. They stank, had a mildew type of smell and there were stains all over carpets and some of the bed coverings. This hotel is in desperate need of repair. We tried make a joke of it with the kids and it was almost comical the disarray in the room:- we realised how spoilt we were when we couldn't not verballise our comments. It was a super busy night in melbourne and this was one of only hotels available when we needed a room that night. I guess we know why it was free at late notice;- but it wasn't cheap... The cups hadn't been cleaned and the fridge had stains, rust all over it. This is a really low star/condition place and super noisy. To top it off, our neighbours were having a brawl which resulted in two police cars and an arrest. Not our favourite hotel by any means:- it appears that residents or long term tenants might stay there so would urge any families to take care.. If it was super cheap..... Maybe it might fill a void. A terrible, horrible hotel.
