Although an older etablishment the Statesman proved to be an enjoyable stay. The rooms were comfortable and well serviced and the food was exceptional value (especially the 400 gram rump). Bar and restaurant charged back to room and found all staff friendly and obliging. We will return!

I stayed in a standard double bed room. It was clean & bright with a large desk. The free wifi was slow and would need to improve for a business stay. The carpets outside the rooms were a little worn (but who cares). I arrived after 20:00 so Bistro was closed but I had breakfast which was frugal but again,... More

I suppose you expect less in out of city centre hotel but this is below average. Bed comfortable enough; room generally tatty with an unfortunate brown coloured wall paint. Dingy, gloomy bar/ bistro with a cave of a breakfast area. Archaic unreliable wifi.

We stayed here last week for two nights, in a Balcony Spa Suite. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I do think it is a little overpriced, however it is a long time since I have experienced such wonderful service. The lady at reception on arrival was so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We ordered room service both nights, and... More

This hotel motel is a hotel with a motel on the side. Terribly expensive for the standard of accomodation. Breakfast was over the top price wise and very very basic. Dinner was appalling, chips and whatever thrown on top and expensive. Paper thin walls, I thought my husband was in the shower but no it was the people in the... More

We were lucky enough to have a room with a recently refurbished bathroom.Comfortable beds and well appointed room. Everything was very clean.Very friendly reception. Hotel well suited to large groups, not to intimate dining! Meals were very large.

We have stayed here twice whilst on motorcycle trips from South Australia. The rooms are always clean with good facilities. The meals are of good quality with a large range at good prices and there is a good choice of beers in the bar. Very secure parking behind locked gates. I would certainly stay again when visiting Canberra.

This place is more well known with the locals as having a big bar like an RSL club. Even though I was there on schnitzel night I passed that up and went to the nepalese place at the local shops instead (good). Essentially this is a big 60s or 70s dump that although it has been renovated a few times... More

This isn't a good choice for a family. We have a toddler with a stroller; there is no lift. the room doors don't lock from the inside, so our son could get out. There is a landing with railings so wide that any child could slip through (would have thought this was illegal?) as well as a steep staircase. The... More

Work has me stay here. In all fairness it is being renovated...but....if you like the idea of staying in a Hotel with very nice rooms attached then this is for you. On the plus side is a shopping centre next door and a short drive to all of the attractions in Canberra. On the negative side no electric blankets -... More
