My partner and I first booked to go here in 2010 because for pine lodge accomodation it was cheaper than the competition and also allowed us to take our pet dog for a fee. We always leace early in the morning for our holiday so were a little dissapointed 1st time when we got there but was not allowed into... More

My husband and I have just returned from a great Monday- Friday stay in the Peak District at Darwin Forest Country Park with our dog Blaze. I love taking my dog away but usually worry about 'pet friendly' places as we have had experiences in other hotels and cottages where rooms are cramped and poorly equipped and full of dog... More

We stayed here during the Easter break, we were worried there wouldn't be enough for the kids to do but we were wrong! The excellent little monkeys play area and pool were a favourite!! We didn't try the pub ( it looked like it was being refusrbished) so cant comment on the food, but the food at little monkeys was... More

14 of us (8 adults + 6 kids) spent the early May Bank Holiday weekend at Darwin Forest in a Sudbury Lodge (no 26) and a Hassop lodge (no 23). We were looking for a park which wasn’t too big, but still had some decent on-site facilities and that wasn’t too difficult to get to. We also wanted good quality... More

Really pleased that you enjoyed your weekend and thank you for all your feedback and tips for things to do on the park and in the area. Although the hot-tubs are very popular, we appreciate that not everyone will wish to pay the premium for them. Apart from buying and installing the hot -tub, there are additional costs in emptying... After reading the brilliant reviews we decided to book for 2 adults and 1 infant in a 2 bedroom lodge with a bathroom and hot tub. We used the electronic booking check system and got an email back with pricing and availability that we decided to accept. We then got told that the style of lodge we wanted doesn't have... More

Dear Simon, I am really sorry that you had difficulties booking a holiday break with us. I gather that the lodge you had requested was reserved overnight, but after we did not hear back from you it was released again. Please accept our sincere apologies. On a more positive note, I understand that have now succesfully booked at our sister... More

We stayed in an Elvaston Lodge (68) which was very clean and nicely situated. The forest walk was great for our dog who just "loves" squirrels although the squirrels were bold enough to play on the verandah which really wound our dog up. We stayed mon to fri and on Wednesday we had gale force winds and several inches of... More

My husband myself and my 16 month old daughter visited Darwin Forest Country Park this week for our annual holiday and to be honest feel a little let down. Reading other fantastic reviews I have had to really think are my critiques justified but I believe they are. The main issue was the travel cot. We paid for a travel... More

We are very sorry that you had problematic issues with aspects of your recent holiday with us. We would though respectfully point out that cots similar to ours are used in the majority of hotel bedrooms as they need to be portable so that they can be brought into lodges as required. We ask guests not to use hot-tubs after... More

This is a small friendly park where the owners haven't forgotten how to treat their customers. Just over 100 lodges amongst the trees, (tip - higher numbers over 100 generally at far end of site, quieter, nearer nature, ours - by luck is at the end of the park before the woods, great if you really want tranquility -117) As... We have now stayed here twice and have recommended it to our friends. A beautiful part of the country. The lodges are clean, comfortable and modern with plenty of space both inside and out. The Park itself is well laid out and the added bonus of a swimming pool and spa together with a soft play area for younger kids,... More
