We stayed overnight in Brig at this hotel en route to St Moritz via the Glacier Express. I noticed the many not-so-nice reviews on this site about this hotel but I had a very nice time. I think it must be said that for a family-run hotel they are doing pretty well. Okay, so the decor is a bit dated... More

Ideal for the station. Limited private parking. Early closing bar has great atmosphere in and out. On busy corner. Food local with good variety. Rooms are dull not helped by minimal wattage light bulbs Train enthusiasts ask for a room at the front. For a quiet room ask for a back bedroom - tend to be gloomy as well as... More

This hotel was a disappointment - rooms were OK and beds comfortable but no atmosphere, lino on the stairs and nowhere to gather with friends apart from the expensive impersonal public bar. There is a residents' dining room which had to be vacated straight after the (not bad) evening meal. No chef in the morning though so cold buffet breakfast... More

Great situation, opposite station. Despite my room facing the station it was not noisy. Nice views of the mountains. The bar and restaurant are nice and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful.

I am amazed at the good reviews this hotel gets. One reviewer describes it as "cosy", which it most certainly isn't. Another talks about the "helpful" management, which was certainly not my experience. The truth is that this is a rather dog-eared and tired hotel that desperately needs complete refurbishment and modernisation. It survives simply because it is across the... More

Great find, convenient for Station - 50 yards, good breakfast, friendly staff, the owner is very helpful - late arrival no problem and checked in for my flight home using his computer, would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here as part of a tour group. It has a great location, and we were not bothered byt the noise, even though our room overlooked the station (my husband was very pleased as he could watch the trains from the balcony!) The bed squeaked, and the hot water took ages to come through. Also the walls were thin... More

The location of the hotel is excellent. Noise from outside did drift in. The 1930's interior has seen better days unfortunately. The once rich decadence is as faded as the plastic flowers. The room was very cold and the heating did not work. The bed had an annoying squeaking which woke me up several times. The breakfast was limited in... More

We booked the Hotel Victoria based on the great reviews in tripadvisor and they were all confirmed. This family run hotel is directly opposite the main train station which is very convenient, the only down side is that you do hear all of the announcements through the day, but most of the noise ceases around 7pm. The staff provide excellent... More

I have been staying at the Hotel Victoria every year for the past 10+ years. For me, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Valais if I had a choice. If you are looking for a clean, cozy, inexpensive place to stay, I highly recommend it. The owner, Reto Steiner, and his staff have always made me feel welcome and... More
