When we got to the Mercure after a rather bad drive in the rain it was a welcome sight. Had dinner in the hotel as couldnt be bothered going back out. Food was excellent despite it being a holiday weekend and staff in short supply. Room was clean and tidy though one downside was that there were no tea/coffee making...

Stopped there to spend the night before our flight out of Dortmund airport. Nothing special good or bad. Decent cafe in the lobby. Staff is very helpful

We were looking for an airport hotel (arriving late, departing early next morning). 15-20 minutes with the shuttle service arranged by the hotel. The next and last shuttle would leave at 11 pm but when we arrived at Europcar's office (terminal B, talk to the staff and they will call the hotel crew) we were told by the people behind...

The hotel is clean and professionally run. It is most suitable for business use and for convenience when using Dusseldorf Airport. The hotel is about half the price of the main hotels situated actually at the airport and there is a €6.00 charge for the coutesy bus.
The location is rather remote if you do not have a car as...

Considering the price we paid there is not much to say. But I expected something more from a Mercure Hotel. There was no business centre, just 1 computer in the entrance. The Internet wireless connection didn't work with the Ipad of my colleague. And the running machine at the gym didn't work either.

This hotel is too far from the airport to call itself an airport hotel. It has poor public transport links and the shuttle bus adds €12 - €20 PER DAY to the cost. It was also very expensive with very limited facilities. €300 per day and they even charge extra for internet access

The name Mercure Hotel Dusseldorf Airport, gives you the impression that this hotel must be walking distance to the airport...well surprise, it is not.
However, I must say that they offer a good shuttle service, and the restaurant "a la carte" menu is actually quite good.

Hotel absolutely fine. It is not however fair to describe it as Dusseldorf Airport. Due to slow traffic on the Autobahn, which is not completely unusual, it took he taxi 45 mins to travel from the airport to the hotel at 22:00. Had I known this i would have gone for a central hotel close to the rail link.......

I have stayed at Mercure properties frequently when traveling in Germany and they have always been a safe bet. This property is an exception to that rule. Since I was flying into Dusseldorf in the evening, I wanted something close by. What could be better than the Mercure Duesseldorf Airport location?
Hard-To-Find: Neither my rental car nor my personal GPS...
