We stayed two night in Gasthof zum Baren. The setting of this old hotel in the old town of Meersburg is gorgeous. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. However, the mattress of our bed was too hard and the hot water in the shower did not have enough pressure. The breakfast was good... More

Our hotel room had plenty of room and was clean. Decor was in the traditional Bavarian style which added some charm to the experience. Our room was also quiet, despite what other posters have said, although we visited in the off-season so that may have something to do with it. Bathrooms were a bit small, but such is the case... We stayed at the Gasthof zum Baren for one night. The hotel is pricey from an international perspective but if you factor in standard German hotel rates and the location, I would say this is a standard room rate in Germany. The property relatively unassuming and lacking frills (they do not have an elevator so people with special needs should... More

The building is simply beautiful inside and out. It is conveniently located in a charming town on the Bodensee River. Stunning waterfront views as you explore the pedestrian cobblestone walking areas. Lots of shops restaurants and weinstube's to enjoy. Our room was lovely and immaculately maintained. The breakfast room warm & inviting with a generous spread for breakfast. Our hosts... More

Adorable B&B with fantastic owners that accommodated our every need. The rooms were spacious and superbly decorated. The beds were comfortable and the best part was our windows opened up to the cobblestone street and town below. The sound of the town people bustling around was a nice background while playing cards and drinking wine at night. If you go... More

This hotel occupies a very old building in the centre of Meersburg. Both the hotel and town were charming. It is a short walk (under 10 minutes) down to the lakeside, but a fairly steep walk back up. We only stayed one night as we were enroute from the UK to Italy, but would have liked to spend more time... More

The hotel was nice, rooms extremely large, we had a turret room and out adult kids another room on the third floor. The owner was very helpful as we arrived late in the day having made stops along the way and he was heavy into the dinner hour. I highly recommend eating dinner at the hotel it was the best meal... More

Stayed there for one night. The location is not bad. It's a good walk downhill to get to the ferry. It's a killer to walk up back to the hotel. It is an old hotel with lots of history. The chef and owner was pretty nice and gave a brief history of the place. He was probably the highlight though.... More

We stayed for three night in July with our two teenage boys. We had a room each. The rooms were spacious and clean and the hotel was in a great location near the top of the old town. The service was very good as was the breakfast. I would definitely stay there again. There is no fridge in the room... More
