This is a lovely boutique hotel, run by two gracious and witty hosts, dedicated to providing a great experience to their guests. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, and each has a unique theme. The furnishings are tasteful and whimsical, demonstrating an elegance and sense of humour. This includes the large and eclectic collection of hippopotamus miniatures in the main... More

I loved the people running the place, truly kind. The room was the rome themed room at the top with the lovely claw-footed bath tub. It was so nicely done but I did have two concerns. There was a very strong acid/musty odor in the room. The lovely tub probably sloshed water and under the vinyl it got smelly. The... More

Hosts excellent from the cheery welcome to the recommendations for eating out. Room was plenty large enough, well decorated with an excellent bathroom. Communal areas very good from the lounge to the garden. Should we spend an extra 8Euros on breakfast with so many bakeries within 3 minutes walking? Glad we did, great pastries and bread, and the best fried... More

We stayed in Le Cercle de Malines last night and cannot fault it. The hosts are charming and very helpful. We started our evening with a drink in the lovely lounge. On return we slept incredibly well in the small but beautifully appointed Venise room. The wet room had all the little touches (razor kit, tooth brush etc) and the... More

We fell upon this charming little guest house while stopping over in Calais on our trip to Normandy. It was recommended by one of the locals while stopping to grab a bite to eat in town. It had an old world charm, with modern conveniences and immaculately clean. Our host and hostess were so kind and gracious. Our stop in... More

Good: The room was very stylish and comfortable. The building is charming and very beautifully renovated. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and the Wi-Fi worked well. The location is good and very close to the town and the ferry. We got a free park right outside the hotel. Tea/ coffee making in the... More

we had a great stay in a small hotel right in the centre of Calais near the Theatre. Its only 6 rooms and the appearance from the the outside is misleading, big blue doors could be off putting, but once insided its very pleasent. A lovery lounge area with small bar, and the bedrooms are extremely clean with beautiful expensive... More

I booked a room in this cosy hotel to get a good night sleep, which I did. A very friendly host helped me a lot to park my car and boat on their private parking. I did not took any breakfast here, but I will for sure come back to try it.

We were looking for a b&b for our last night on the continent. We felt really lucky to have found this one. We stayed in 'Rome' (all the rooms are named) and the bed was wonderful (it's pictured above). We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends and family.

We had a two night stay in Calais. We chose this 'chambre d'hotes' because of the rave reviews of previous guests. It did not disappoint. Our African themed bedroom was large. It needed to be to accommodate the huge bed. The bathroom was equally spacious with a spa bath, separate shower cubicle and twin sinks. Communal rooms retain many original... More
