We had tried earlier in the year when we were passing to get in to this hotel but it was fully booked but it did give us a chance then to have a look inside and we were very impressed and disappointed that we could not get in.
This time I booked in advance to be certain to get in....

Have stayed 12 times over last 5 years. You must go for one of the rooms in the new part of the hotel - older rooms are far more basic. Restaurant good, quite expensive, other good ones nearby. Town and seafront have the charm of a bygone era.

Tricky to find, but worth the effort. Great location on sea front, with lovely views and no road between the hotel and the beach. Superb restaurant. Standard rooms are modest but have all you need. Atmosphere is relaxed, informal and friendly. Great value.
