Arrived for one night only due to a short stay in the area,we found the hotel very clean, friendly & welcoming.Charming owners who have renovated & modernised the hotel in the last 18 months.Dined in the restaurant & had excellent food & service. Breakfast was continental fresh & ample, would definitely stay again, which could be soon. More

We arrived after driving all day in the rain very tired and not expecting much. We hadn't booked anywhere, but were made very welcome in the hotel, they even laid on an extra table for us to eat dinner in their fully booked restaurant. Where the food and atmosphere was excellent. This hotel was one of the few on our... More

A reasonable hotel and good restaurant in this town just off the edge of the Dordogne. The old hilltop town is very pleasant for a stroll with steep, narrow alleys and old buildings; it deserves to better known though does not seem to be marketed much. The main commercial area is now just off the south of this, with the... More

I would have to totally disagree with the reviewer about the service at the Hotel Bissonnier. The whole team were delightful, we arrived with our 10 year old daughter quite late, we were hungry and tired and they opened the kitchen specially for us. Not once were there any hostilities in our 2 day stay. We were treated as if... More

The hotel is excellent for its location. We were there with a young child, and our parents. We booked 2 rooms. The rooms were clean but they do need a bit of an update, but they were fine. We could smell smoke from other rooms which were sneaky of the occupants as it's against the law now? Anyway, the food... More

We really didn't know what to expect having seen some of the adverse comments, particularly as we were going to stay there for 10 days and be joined by family from the UK and Singapore. We were very happy with our stay at the hotel. The owner and staff were great and worked hard to make us comfortable and at... More

We stayed for one night. There was a warm welcome from English speaking staff. The room we had at the front was indeed rather dark when we arrived, largely because it faced East and had trees in front. This may mean that it was tolerably cool in high summer. Our supper was good ‘home cooking’ standard. Breakfast was in dazzling... More

I have read the reviews of Hotel Bissonnier and just wanted to add my own viewpoint. I have stayed at Hotel Bissonnier on numerous occasions. This is because my Husband and I used it as our bolthole whilst looking for and purchasing a property close to Gourdon. Now, to qualify - I'm 34 and I've travelled to the Americas, Oz,... More

recently stayed at the Bissonnier on my way to Spain, food was great and well priced, with a modern twist to the usually heavy food of this region. The rooms were clean and comfortable, great value for money. The staff were extremely friendly, helpfull and english speaking, highly recommended More

Unlike some of the reviewers of this hotel, we stayed at this hotel and found everything more than satisfactory. And no we are not connected to the hotel as some less than trusting reviewers may think when someone disagrees with their opinion. I stayed with my husband and teenage son for 2 nights as we were touring in the area.... More
