This is a nicely restored building a few hundred yards from a busy main road (D914) but with no direct access. The narrow access roads meander around crossing small fords and are in a poor state, but the hotel has a nice rural aspect and well worth the effort seeking out. We found the hotel rooms a bit small and... More

Very nice old mas, gradually being restored outside of Argeles- near motorway but rooms oriented away so we didn't have any noise- maybe careful in summer as we were there mid winter. Restaurant closed so no review of that, but the place is probably a bit higher than the official 3 stars it gets.

Even if you usually stay at 4- and 5-star hotels, you should not shy away from 3-star Auberge du Roua. The service, the rooms and the cleanliness is all you can desire, and the hotel is small enough to allow the capable and efficient staff (that includes the owners, a young an very competent French/Norwegian couple) to handle the guests... The Hotel is a converted farmhouse and has been transformed in keeping with it's rural location. Although only 3 Star the rooms were comfortable and both clean and tidy. On the downside the hotel lacks atmosphere and the furnishings whilst appropriate to the venue are minimalistic to the point of looking bare in places. On the upside the Restaurant is... More

We return each year on my birthday in August for a wonderful meal with friends. Sometimes we park our campervan outside and stay in the hotel. This year the food was as good as ever although slightly expensive its not as though we do this every evening and the setting by the pool is beautiful. Its a treat to have... More

This is a delightful boutique hotel in a peaceful setting just outside Argeles-sur-mer. The rooms are simply furnished but warm, comfortable and well appointed. We had a suite with a view over vineyards and the foothills of the Pyrenees. The young owners, Magalie and Petter Tonjum are very friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant is excellent, easily the best food... More

Not an easy place to find (it's actually just to the west of the N114) but when you do it's an amazing place. A good 10 mins drive to the sea, but you can walk into the town centre. Dear Guest, I do indeed remember your visit... It is not that often that our authentic stone walls do remind of a prison cell... :) I am really sorry that our Auberge was not up to your expectations and that the charm of our catalan mas did not act upon you. Best regards, Magalie Tonjum. More
