The room was quite nice but the bedding was SO heavy and very uncomfortable. Bed a large double. Bathroom good all mod cons and clean with power spa shower and spa bath. Old French furniture. The Nespresso machine didn't work and the young girl tried hard to fix it but in the end exchanged it - took 3/4 hour to... More

- excellent location in the heart of this nice village and nice the famous forest. - room nicely decorated but not very large - excellent restaurant but irregular service : very professional guy for helping you to choose the perfect wine and food is excellent. but the waiters should be more professionnal sometimes and should be more clean and without... This hotel's concept could best be described as a "luxury country inn". Unfortunately, it does not at all live up to the reputation built up by a long list of celebrities who stayed here. The rooms (our part was booked into nos 1 and 2) were quite small and above all in dire need of refurbishment. Everything looks at lease... More

we spent a night here and took their 'offre special' for de luxe room, gastronomic dinner and breakfast. the room was very dark, the view out was on to the first floor balcony where people passed to go to their rooms. The room was clean and had a modern bathroom with jacuzzi and high tech shower but not the aspect... More

We were happily booked in at Chateau D'Augerville about 30 minutes away. Upon arrival we were told that they would not be able to accommodate us on one of the nights as they had a wedding and needed or rooms, however we were booked in at the Bas-Breau which was very similar. We arrived at the Bas-Breau after a long... More

Stayed in the Bas-Breau for 3 nights in late April 2006. Selected this hotel because there were no rooms available in Fontainebleau. We were a group of 7 on business. Room rates start around 245E and go to 400+ depending on room/suite. The hotel is spread out over several buildings all looking to be 17th or 18th C. There is... More

Very friendly, attentive service. We stayed for two nights in a room on the first floor, overlooking the entrance courtyard. The room was a reasonable size, with sloping ceilings and old furniture, but modern air-conditionaing. Unusually, the hanging cupboard space opened off the bathroom. Overall, the room was over-priced and we thought the restaurant prices exhorbitant - particularly as there... More

Stayed in Barbizon in May 2004. Close to Paris, Barbizon is obviously a frequent choice for week-end getaways and the Bas-Breau definitely knows how to accomodate its guests. Our room was a nice, large, well furnished room with a great jacuzzi in the bathroom. Tennis courts next door, plus swimming pool (which we did not try as it was too... More
