The hotel is really nice even of it is located right next to a street and has a bit of traffic noise. The restaurant is really really good. The staff are what made our stay so great. They are extremely friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again if in the area More

We have stayed at this hotel for a number of years, on our way home from our holiday in the Alps. It is a very good city centre hotel with a very enjoyable restaurant which produces consistant good imaginative food. Our room had a very well equipped bathroom to freshen up after the long drive. The hotel has secure parking... More

Chalons has many lovely old buildings and is certainly worth an overnight stop - especially if you pick a market day. The Hotel d'Angleterre boasts one upmarket restaurant (there's a separate brasserie) and we chose the most expensive set menu. It was a very good meal ... once we had got over the surprise of finding that 2 of the... More

Hotel d'Angleterre has been our firm family favourite stop as we drive down through France being in Chalons en Champagne a handy 3 1/2 hours drive from Calais. This great hotel is located in central Chalons, a friendly reception awaits you, and on our arrival on a rather chilly -7 degree night on our stop down to the Alps, we received... This hotel is very conveniently located in the centre of Chalons. The parking space is a nightmare - you have to reverse down a long driveway and around a corner to get into the space. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was a good size. Very well equipped bathroom with jacuzzi bath - real luxury. However. The... More

Booked a stopover for one night. The next day the car broke down not far from Chalon so we returned to the hotel for help as we do not speak any french. We were greeted with concern and gives a pot of tea while the receptionist, who speaks fluent english, arranged for a garage to pick up the car and... More

This hotel rather reminded me of France 30 years ago when most towns had a good hotel serving excellent food but this sadly has become harder to find. Firstly, Chalons is a really charming place with lovely architecure and a good Saturday market. The rooms in the hotel are comfortable and clean and good value. The highlight of the stay... More

Outside is unpromising but we had a good reception and room. certainly no mega sizes as mentioned in ohter reviews. The room was boiling when we arrived and it took us a while to out how to cool it down even with a/c. Only place I have every been charged for a babhy cot but despite that good value. Dinner... More

We stayed one night having booked "on the road" and not wanting to go into Reims. Chalons is much more convenient, just off the autoroute. The hotel is right in the centre and perfectly adeuate for the night. Good service at reception, rooms smallish but clean and comfortable. We said no to the breakfast at E15 pp and just found... I stayed here briefly en route from Calais to Macon. A comfortable and peaceful stay at this property, complete with an excellent dinner at their gourmet restaurant Jacky Michel. Solid in all facets, even if overwhelmingly excellent in none. Highly recommended for visitors to this town, and I'd recommend this town over Reims as a place to stay. More
