We always planned to visit Chalon, and in doing so came across and stayed at this really nice hotel, smack bang in the middle of town, in the place de la republique.
Parking can be a problem, free after 19.00 hours, but nonetheless what a nice town Chalon is..

We stumbled upon this cute little hotel while on the road from Paris to Germany. The town is so cute, and the hotel location is excellent right in the middle of the square. There was a very nice restaurant Brasserie Rupublique with great food (my husband had delicious duck and I had an awesome pizza margherita) directly across the street...

This is a cracking small, traditional French hotel in a lovely location in the main square of Chalons. Our room overlooked the square - worth getting one of these rooms if possible. Nice room of a decent size, with a good bathroom. We never had dinner at the hotel, but breakfast was really good. Parking can be tricky - best...
