We stayed as a large party on a golfing trip, and the hotel was ok, it was as expected. The rooms (ours looked over the Car Park) were fine, a little mould in the bathroom, but a good size, with a decent bathroom. Breakfast was Continental, with plenty of choice and options. The ham and cheese were a little slow... More

Our second visit to this hotel. Booked through Brittany Ferry website, inclusive of crossing between Plymouth/Roscoff - 3 nights B&B offered extremely good value for money. Large, clean, functional bedroom + large bathroom on 1st floor overlooking the river estuary. Reception staff friendly and large car-park adjacent the hotel an advantage. Good choice of breakfast menu (self-service) and although we... More

Difficult to fault this hotel, stayed in September for 4 days whilst on coach holiday. Driver who obviously visits many establishments throughout the year echoes my title comment. Great location, quiet though probably not during high season. As they were catering for a group menus were chosen for following day, two choices for each of three courses and often difficult... More

Although the bedrooms were quite basic they were clean, large and functional. Restaurant was good although the more basic set menus do not include a cheese course. Very convenient location. The only downside is that coach parties are taken in and fortunately we got into the restaurant for dinner and breakfast before they arrived and caused quite a bit of... More

Had a really good weekend with the Abbatiale in June this year and just cannot understand what the previous reviews are all about! Of course not everyone wants to speak English in France or eat chicken and chips for dinner! My wife and I have stayed in french hotels all over France during the past 30 years and yes, some... More

We have visited this hotel before, several years ago and benefitted from a sea view room at first floor room. I think we were spoilt! We asked for a sea view room on our return and indeed got one - but on the uppermost floor (5th) which is in the roof, with a small dormer window and sloping ceilings. This... More

My husband and I stayed here with two friends last Friday. We booked for two nights however, stayed for only one. The hotel is in a good location but it is very dark and old. The rooms are exceptionally basic. They were really old fashioned and very dark and gloomy. The bathrooms were a joke really as although there was... More

Contrary to other reviews, we had a most enjoyable 6-night stay at this hotel. Ok, the decor could do with refreshing but it is a typical French 3star hotel. Our room was large, quiet (at the back of the hotel) on 4th floor with 2 windows allowing plenty of air. Bath towels were changed every day as were the sheets.... More

One enters the Hotel into a small but smart reception - half of which is a small bar. Access to upper floors is via stairs or via a small and very slow lift - an important consideration if arriving with a larger party! Infirm people should take care on shelved flooring and alternating floor levels. Our first room, on the... More

Rooms: We stayed here on two occasions (two rooms each time) so we experienced four rooms. The two rooms on the second floor were in an ‘older’ style, but had a pleasant décor. The two rooms on the fourth floor seemed to be a bit more modern in style, with a different décor. All were adequately equipped and clean. The... More
