The Gaun Ghar hotel is an old home or shop converted into a hotel. We were told that the former rulers lived there including when Bandipur was the capital of the region.. Its really a nice private charming hotel..Its well preserved to ts original form and one can see form the layout and the headroom.. When we checked in, we... More

of course, there are a lot of brownouts in Bandipur, and the water in the bathroom cannot be very warm....the rooms have a countryside character, are small and simple. The cuisine is simple but good , breakfast excellent. But the view on the Himalaya is beautiful , and the environment ,in the main street of this little mountain village ,is authentic.

We stayed there for one night. The house is really beautiful. It has been refurnished with such a good taste. Our room looked to the terrace, and the views of the mountains from the windows were astonishing. The service was friendly, and we had the best dhal baat of our trip there (with plenty of tasty dishes). I recommend to... More

I almost passed this place over on the suggestion of The Old Inn next door (is there a rivalry?) but I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I ended up with a small room that opened onto a large terrace, with a full view of the mountains right from my bed. What more could you ask for? The... More

We stayed here as part of a group in April 2011. We enjoyed our stay and loved Bandipur. The rooms were basic but clean and the service was good throughout the stay. Only point to mention is I think it was a little too expensive for what you actually received.

Would highly recommend staying in bandipur, this hotel is right in the centre of bandipur. It's like the set of a film set, we spent 1 night there on the way from Pokora to chitwan. Rooms are basic and the doors are extreemly low so watch your head but this just adds to your stay. Dinner was by candle light... More

We stayed in this nice hotel for 2 nights and had a great time! The hotel is in a traditional and authentic Newari style building, which is well renovated. Our heritage room had a fantastic view on the Annapurna range, which we enjoyed tremendously early morning from the bed! The rooms are small, but nice and the bathrooms are good.... More

We were totally looking forward to our stay in Bandipur, in a relaxed manner. We chose Gaun Ghar because of its location. However, we were sadly disappointed to note that we chose the wrong property. The hotel staff was uncordial. Further, our clothes were damaged by the black dyed furniture, and the hotel seemed uninterested in listening to our concerns,... More

This small hotel is terraced with the Old Inn (see lonely planet) and shares the same features; terrace with a fabulous view and restored traditional building. The food is tasty and mostly picked from the garden below. The staff do their utmost to make you happy (even fulfilling our request for a foot massage after a hike - great [500R])... More
