We were really looking forward to staying here having read the TA reviews but we were a little disappointed. It's difficult to explain why but mostly it's because we felt like a commodity rather than guests.
We were put in the 'motel' like rooms in a separate building, and felt we were stuck out there amongst noisy families with kids...

We stayed at Villa Rita for two nights and enjoyed the hospitality and service. It is within walking distance to the Greek and Roman ruins. Th rooms at a nice size. We stayed in the free standing, motel like building across from the main hotel which gives you more privacy and guarantees a first floor room.
We dined their the...

This entry is a way of saying "thank you" to the family who run Villa Rita for exceptional service on the day we arrived in a downpour, having parked our car at the opposite end of the archaeological site and asked if it was possible to have lunch. The dining room was beautifully laid out, but there were no other...

Family owned, large enough for all the creature comforts and small enough for excellent service, Villa Rita is the ONLY place you should stay in Paestum. It's a short walk to the wonderful Greek ruins or the train station, and if it's raining just ask for a ride - the owner provided us one free in his personal car! Don't...

My friend Diane chose Villa Rita because of its proximity to the entrance gate to the ancient Greek Temple ruins at Paestum, and because of the reasonable cost.
The entrance to Villa Rita is adjacent to the walls that surrounded the ancient city of Paestum.
We were welcomed warmly to the charming hotel by the family members.
The rooms had...

The Hotel Villa Rita is the perfect place to use as a base for exploring Paestum (which is a few minutes walk away), going to the beach (which is within longer but still reasonable walking distance) or exploring Southern Italy. Napoli is an hour away by car, with Pompei and the Amalfi coast in between. Paestum is also a perfect...

it was a stroke of good luck which guided us to Villa Rita when we visited the Greek ruins in October 2011. Luigi, the owner couldn't have been more accomodating and helpful. He even drove us to the train when we were ready to leave. A relaxing and delicious dinner was a treat that we enjoyed in the attractive dining...

Hotel Villa Rita has the warmth of home in a beautiful setting. However, Hotel Villa Rita is more than a nice building and lovely grounds. The family owner, Luigi is friendly, helpful and welcoming. Oh, and be sure to enjoy a very leisurely dinner in their fine-dining restaurant. However, don't expect a big bill - the hotel and restaurant are both...

A wonderful B and B to stay at while visiting Paestum. Clean and comfortable rooms. Luigi is a most accommodating host, helping in any way he could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. He treated us to a personal tour of his gardens when we showed interest in them, and insisted on driving us to the train station...
