Staff was wonderful, we were able to use a computer to email home, beautiful palazzo redone into a hotel. We took a cab to the hotel from the funicular, but the staff, who spoke wonderful English, helped us use the public transportation to get back to the train. Breakfast was included in the price, and was quite a nice spread... More

A little tricky to find but once settled in, we had a perfect couple of days in Orvieto. Our room (301) was right beside the lift with windows looking out over the rooftops in two directions. We loved the simplicity of the hotel - despite it being an old palazzo. Right in the center of the old town, it was... More

Very nice hotel in a lovely town. The staff were very friendly, carrying our bags up to our room and offering recommendations on restaurants. The room was a good size but the shower was rather cramped. The one downside of the hotel is the €12 a day charge for parking. Other than that I would recommend it.

I went with friends; off-season, we paid 100E a room, which was great. The rooms are rather romantic, too bad I was there with some buddies rather than my wife. The rooms are huge, very clean. They're almost like suites, without kitchens. It's perfect for families, the rooms all have pull-outs. Breakfast was good, very good, for Italy. It's cool:... More

It is a charming place and a charming town. As a travel pro for DM vacation I rate hotels based on their category and hold them to that and their promises. I thankfully upgraded for a small amount to a superior room. Otherwise it would be a very small room. The bed and items in the hotel are fine. There... More

Orvieto is one of the best hill towns in Italy. It is literally perched up in the sky. Palazzo Piccolomini is a good choice for a hotel if you are driving a car. (If traveling by train, you'll want to stay on the other side of town.) To drive up to Orvieto you literally wind around the back of the... More

Great little hotel with a superb staff who are very helpful. If you're expecting the kind of experience you get at chain high end hotels you may be disappointed as this is an old European town with the kind of buildings you should expect. We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel, the location and especially the staff!

We enjoyed this hotel. The staff made great restaurant suggestions, the room was nice and simple but well-decorated. It was about a 10 minute walk to the funicular. The breakfast was good and they offered many options, but they played some depressing music both mornings we were there. (I know that sounds a little silly.) I would go back again.

We arrived late and frazzled to the hotel, wanting to drop off luggage before returning our rental car. The staff were courteous, professional, and extremely helpful. The ground floor room was large, quiet, and had an intriguing view of a tiny piazza. The complementary breakfast was delicious - and featured fresh eggs and whole wheat toast! Such a nice change...
