Il Fienile is a charming country resort just a few minutes outside of Montepulciano. We loved that it was small, attractive, and very comfortable. The place is well-cared for and feels very authentic Italian agriturismo. Location is great with easy commute to southern Tuscany towns such as Montalcino, Pienza, and Cortona. We stayed in the Gelsomino apartment with one bedroom... More

The hotel was excellent! The rooms were very clean and cosy. We stayed at the apartment. The scenery was very nice, the garden was excellent. The prices were very good, maybe the best in the area. The location is nice but its 2-3 km from montepulciano!!! I highly recommend this hotel if you have a car!!! I did not like... More

After 3 nights in Rome's city center and two nights in the middle of Florence, this place was just what we needed. No speeding scooters or cars, honking horns, sirens, or yelling people. Just unbelievable beauty an the sounds of nature. Situated close to a country road, 5 km away from the quaint walled village of Montepulciano, sits an old... More

Are you kidding me? A quaint farm house, surrounded by Vino Nobile di Montepulciano vines that is only 3 miles (5k) from the city center of Montepulciano....amazing and wonderful! The pool is exquisit and is a welcome relief to the hot Tusan summer. Very relaxing. Note, this farm house does not have nor include breakfast. However, I suggest driving up... More

We are experienced Tuscany travelers, visiting the region for more than 10 years now. We've got our fair share of nice Agriturismo's and houses we use often. However, this time we needed an space for 4 days to extend our holiday an bit, and found IL Fienile. The location is perfect between Montepulciano and Montefollonico. The rooms were spacious and... We stayed recently for 4 nights in this lovely farmhouse, with wife and our 5 year old boy. The house is in the middle of vine fields, which were marvelous in the autumn light. It is very clean, very well kept, hospitality is excellent and it is well equipped for preparing meals, if you are unable (as was our case,... More

My husband, 12 yr old son and myself along with 2 other couples recently stayed for 3 nights. It was extremely difficult to find accommodation that allowed less than a week stay, and we were concerned about the price being so low - thinking that perhaps this would be the time we would find a place that didn't live up... We had a charming stay at Farmhouse il Fienile. It was a great location for our journeys in the countryside of Tuscany. Each evening we would return to the comfort of il Fienile after a day of travels to the surrounding towns. We got lost frequently as we drove around the countryside, and it always felt like coming home when... More

This is a few months overdue on my review of El Fienile. We enjoyed our time there. There weren't many places that allowed a booking of less than a week in Tuscany. In hindsight I wish we could have stayed longer. We spent 3 nights at El Fienile at the end of June 2009. I was able to book it... More

Me and my husband stayed here for 1 week. Although this was described as self catered, the room that we had was not really what you could consider self catered. It was basically a small cupboard that opened up to with a small sink and 2 gas rings. It was not a very practical place to cook in. There is... More
