Fabulous hotel, great cuisine, superb service and very central location in the Abruzzo area. shower is a let down. Great large comfortable rooms. Bad Wi-fi coverage. The Castle is a dream on top of a hill, like a fairy tale come true. More

A little more expensive than some other options but an incredible value and indelible experience. The castle is wonderfully restored with drop dead views from every vantage point. Add impeccable attention to detail and a staff that goes the extra mile (thank you Leonardo and Luca) for every request, and you have The Castello Chiola experience. One that will make... More

Castello Chiola is a hotel I will return to! Great value for the money. Room & board, reasonably priced. The rooms, large, mostly updated, clean--some of them sumptuous! The restaurant, beautiful as well as a cosy, warm atmosphere. The food, good, much of it local, and innovative. The service/staff, excellent. Obviously, a hotel under excellent, savvy direction. The views from... More

If you're planning to visit Abruzzo region, whatever the reason for the trip, you should take some time to stop at the castle in Loreto Aprutino, a charmy town nearby Pescara. Beautifully located, very friendly service, all rooms with a view and delicious food. Locally sourced produce, the Chef has its own small kitchen garden for fresh herbs and edible... More

This Castle turned Hotel is one of the best that we've stayed at on all of our trips to Europe . Our 'Standard' room was anything but standard it was very large and comfortable . The staff was very helpful with letting us know where to eat as the Hotels restaurant was closed for the day and different sites to... More

A convenient stop on the way to Rome FCO (3 hours drive) is this luxury 9th century castle located in a small town on top of a hill (see picture). It is rated as a 4 star hotel which in Italy would normally be the equivalent of a european 3 star. It isn’t ! This hotel is a gem in... More

We were very impressed by the hotel. The rooms were very large, clean and had a lot of character. The views from our bedroom were also immense. The castle is beautiful and is very well maintained. Whilst quite small, the swimming pool is lovely and again you have fantastic views from the decking. Breakfast was great - a simple but... More

My wife, son and I stayed at Castello Chiola for only one night as we were driving down to Puglia. Though the room was a bit shabby, the price was very good. However, what makes the hotel really shine is its staff, all of who were extremely kind and helpful. Even when I had to abandon diner due to our... More

My two 17 year-old sons and I spent the last few nights of our Italian vacation here at the Castello Chiola in Loreto Aprutino. It was close (fairly) to the Gran Sasso park and we wanted to do some hiking. The "Castle" staff was very friendly and accommodating. Relaxed atmosphere here; not at all stuffy as the staff is generally... More
