Stayed at I Melograni in October 2012 and had a wonderful time. The location is peaceful as it is outside of town up a remote track - although easy enough if you have hired a car. The owners Riccardo, Susan and family are extremelly nice and helpful. Riccardo is particularly keen to help out with local maps and tourist advise... More

I Melograni is well situated for exploring Tuscany. We visited Pisa and Florence by train leaving the hire car at Empoli station, and other destinations - Lucca, Vinci, Chianti country and Sienna by car. The rooms were comfortable, clean and had beautiful views from the terrace - breakfast was very good. But the most outstanding feature of I Melograni is... More

I stayed here, with 3 other family members, for 3 nights in March, 2012. I selected I Melograni primarily for its location relative to Siena, Florence and Pisa. We had a rental car and, coming from Siena, found this place easily with a combination of a GPS and the directions provided. Once there, driving into Empoli to the train station... More

Saying goodbye to Sue and Riccardo is like saying goodbye to friends that you hope to see again soon every time! evr so welcoming. This is the art of hospitality producing master pieces...Children's heaven, wine lovers' treasury, writers', painters' and photographers' muse, joggers' perfect track: all this in the one perfect place in Tuscany.

I am a writer and I stayed at I Melograni B&B for five days to compose and finish my overdue manuscript. The weather was sunny and I spent the bulk of my day sitting on the terrace with my laptop and the company of birds to speed me to a final edit. They were a friendly bunch who chatted sociably... Unfortunately, I must agree with "CBCBegur" on some of those complaints. The B&B is situated in a perfect location if you are with a car, as for my new wife and I we were on foot, relying on public trans for all transportation. Having come all the way from the US, and lived in Europe for about 6 years myself... More

I, Riccardo, have no record of this couple from Sierra Vista Arizona who allegedly stayed in our B&B last October and neither have the local Questura (police constabulary). In accordance with an Italian anti-Mafia law the formality of registering passport information with the police on a tourist’s arrival is obligatory by law; something I do immediately when guest’s check-in. Therefore,... More

Was the second time that we went to this B&B, and again a warm welcome from Sue & Ricardo. They proposed to drive us to the trainstation and pick us up (we just had to call when we would arrive), so we didn't have to leave our car unattend while we went to visit Firenze and Pisa. Ricardo every morning... More

We initially booked 10 nights at this B&B. Our circumstances changed so we cancelled 7 nights a couple of weeks before our due arrival date. We were unsure if we would get away at all so were really looking forward to a break even if it was just for 3 nights. We didn't think there was a problem Sue confirmed... More

The original ten night reservation was cancelled four days before arrival and reduced to only three nights. We didn’t complain about the cancelled seven days (in peak season) or about the outstanding balance for the three nights when they left. We invite our guests to let us know about any food intolerances by a simple email. This lady informed Riccardo... More

Just spent 6 nights @ this B&B - brilliant. Location for touring is excellent and Sue and Ricardo made us feel genuinely welcome. Ricardo's daily briefing on where to go and what to see, as well as his excellent restaurant tips (tried 3, all v. good and great value), were a real help. Utterly charming, would love to return and... More

Ditto for all the other comments on Trip Advisor for this B&B. Riccardo and Susan are terrific hosts and really go out of their way to help you have a wonderful holiday. Riccardo is a wealth of information for routes, maps, sights, restaurants, etc. Their B&B is situated in the tuscany countryside and offers a relaxing and peaceful accommodation. A... More
