We stayed in Firs Cottage while we were on holiday in the Conwy Valley. The house has much charm and history (built early 1600s). Though it is not en suite, there is a sink in the room and baths are close. She has a tub bath and a shower bath. I was surprised at how quiet the accommodations were. I... More

Dear 'Sparrowsong' thank you for reviewing your stay here at Firs Cottage, I am so glad you slept so well, it must be the thick walls and Conwy Valley air! Thank you too for saying that the bathrooms (one with bath and the other with an electric shower) are easy to access. You will be interested to know that the strange... More

If you are looking for a modern, stereotypical, see the same room anywhere type of B & B, Firs Cottage is not for you. If you are looking for old fashioned charm, atmosphere, comfort and a hostess who bakes and makes preserves for your breakfast - look no further than Firs Cottage. We were only here for two nights but... More

Thank you 'kunduko', your review is very much appreciated by me. I am glad you mentioned the bathrooms as they are as near to en-suite as can be in a 17th century cottage! Walls that are 2 or 3 foot thick make some changes impossible! The garden is now responding to spring, all the daffodils are out, a lovely sight... More

We have stayed at Firs Cottage many times, with family members of all ages and we've always found it to be the most welcoming, comfortable and enjoyable stay. The cottage is old with a very interesting history and has been a dwelling since the 1600's. Mary is so friendly and accomodating and makes you feel like one of the family.... More

This is a lovely home we found while travelling through Wales for the first time. A simple B & B sign on the house gate lead us to stay in one of the quietest and picturesque parts of the countryside. Our hostess is a keen genealogist and I was glad to be able to help answer a question on scanning... More

Thank you Kiwi! I enjoyed meeting you both and your visit was serendipitous! The family photo was new to me, my great uncle in Merchant Navy uniform and what I found to be a New Zealand cap badge, thanks to your help. The pub across the river is a good example of home cooking, so pleased you enjoyed it. More

Mary, made my family so welcome during our one night stay, we had the run of the house it was just like visiting a relative our daughter could sit and watch one tv whilst we were in the other lounge and our dog was more than welcome. The rooms were a great size with comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent... More

Mary made me feel welcome with a fantstic cup of tea as soon as i arrived. I booked a year in advance and was glad i did. Mary kept in contact throughout the year and i felt as if i knew her well before i arrived. This b and b is for those who love the 'real' feel of a... More

I highly recommend a stay at this lovely B&B. The owner, Mary, is so welcoming and you will feel from the very beginning that you are a guest in her home. She is also knowledgeable about the local sights and can even help you with your Welsh pronunciations, if necessary. Firs Cottage has great breakfasts, a sun room, pretty grounds,... More

If you want a friendly welcome this is the place for you! Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Mary, the owner. We only stayed one night but wish it could have been more! Room not en suite, but facilities more then adequate. Ann and John Hodgkin
