Lovely building and pleasant staff didn't help to overcome the problems. The noise from the bar was terrible, thumping bass obviously aimed at attracting the local students. I thought I would drown it out with some tv, only to find that there was no reception on any stations. People in other rooms had similar problems with the TVs, if you're... More

Only stayed for one night as me and my wife were attending a birthday party. The hotel is a big old building with lots of character. The room was very clean and tidy. TV was abit on the small side 15" on the wall, however the bed was big and comfy, bathroom was ok. For those looking at staying in... More

Great town centre location, spacious car park. Excellent old hotel, with big rooms, vast beds and massive light shades. Very clean. Even had a view of the sea. Staff were really helpful, especially those serving breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast was fantastic value and kept us going all day - nearly exploded.Would definitely good back - great VFM. Only stayed here one night and asked for a single room, one was available for 34 pounds a night or 40 inc breakfast which i thought was very good value. The room was very clean and consisted of single bed, 15in flat screen TV, kettle for tea, coffee, hot chocolate, iron, plenty of drawers and cupboard space to hang clothes, nice... More

I travel a lot with work and have stayed in a number of Best Western Hotels, generally they have been of a good standard but unfortunately this was not the situation in Hartlepool. The Hotel is located fairly close to the Marina in Hartlepool (5-10 min walk), parking is available for the hotel but only about 10 spaces, which are... More

The idiosyncrasies first of all: I arrived on a day when the lift was out of order; parking was a challenge as the hotel has only 13 spaces so I had to move my car before breakfast; and the light broke (twice) in the room I'd been moved to as there was no hot water in the original room I'd... More

Booked this hotel through laterooms for around £70 for a double room with breakfast. Premier inn wanted £90 that night so it was a no brainer since the Grand were throwing in breakfast. Parking is opposite the hotel, although you can park in the adjacent car park if you leave before 8am. Very central so everything is walking distance. Hotel... More

We have stayed here twice now. Once as a couple and once as a family, with grown up children. On both occasions it has been excellent value for money. The italian restaurant is lovely, the food extremely good on both occasions. The rooms are clean and spacious. There is live music on a Friday, which can be loud, but it... More

Husband and I visited The Grand Saturday 19th November on way to Sunderland to stay at the Marriott Sunday and Monday, to visit Sister in law. Was impressed with the receptionist at the Grand very helpful. Room was nice and clean with a massive bed. Stayed in room 311. Only a couple of points of annoyance, the shower was very... More
