Another very enjoyable 3 night stay at this excellent & very friendly guest house. Jayne, Steve & Betty (the dog) made us very welcome. Tea & warm scones were waiting on our arrival, & Jayne even set the dining room table & provided warm plates & wine glasses for our takeaway one evening. Nothing is too much trouble, it's just... Stayed here on the recommendation of the local Tourist Information Centre. Lovely room which was quiet, comfortable and well appointed. The service was warm, friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast superb. Would definitely stay here again, as it offered a location close to the centre of Pickering and very good value. One other reviewer mentioned the owner's children "clomping about",... More

A charming guest house beautifully furnished and in an emaculate condition. Lovely comforable beds but more importantly such a freindy helpful owner Jayne. We booked in late PM after a long drive and were given tea and freshly made scones. Having a friend drop in to visit us in the evening , coffee and biscuits was provided for us, The... More

Very comfortable, tastefully decorated rooms and friendly hospitality. We had a back room which was very quiet and a good size. Nicely cooked breakfast. Would visit again. Tea and cake on arrival was much appreciated.

I am only repeating what all the other reviews have said, but this lovely house that is beautifully decorated has to be one of the best B&B's that we have ever stayed in. The hosts are extremely friendly, the breakfast good and not to mention the other little extras, made our break in North Yorkshire, our best yet!

Jane and Steve's welcome and hospitality were splendid. Cawthorne House has off street parking and is just a few mins walk from Pickering centre and the North Yorks railway etc. Spotlessly clean rooms great breakfast and great value. We will return for sure. Many thanks

Cawthorne House has to be the best B&B I have visited and is ideally located for touring the beautiful countryside and attractions of North Yorkshire. The quality of the en-suite room, the decor, the breakfast and the quiet relaxing atmosphere contributed to a very enjoyable stay. On arriving I received a wonderful welcome and was made to feel really at... More

We were absolutely delighted with this B&B. The hosts were lovely, the rooms were well presented and spotlessly clean and the breakfast was first class. As two touring Aussies we would not hesitate to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
