I found this place on a late availability website (and what a relief having read some pretty dreadful reviews of mid-price hotels). This apartment sleeps 6 (two large doubles with washbasins and a small room with bunks) and is about 10 minutes from Lord Street and a short walk to Hesketh Park and local shops/cashpoint/cafe.
