We stopped here for lunch and had to ask a local for directions as it is not sign posted. What a lovely building and inside has been beautifully converted from an old Mill. We were the only people there so atmosphere was missing but the owners couldn't have been friendlier. Our lunch was amazing, the risotto was outstanding. Unfortunately it wasn't... More

This is a very comfortable, well equipped and warm B&B - or restaurant with rooms. You will need directions as do not pass by it but well worth a stop. The dinner was superb thanks to the Young Scottish highland chef of the year and was the best we had on this mini trip of the Western Highlands. The breakfast... More

We arrived at The Cross after a long drive and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners with tea and homemade biscuits on arrival. Our room was larger than we expected with a separate seating area, the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. We particularly enjoyed dinner in the restaurant - the food... More

This really is a gem of a place to stay. The lovely old building has been tastefully modernised and is warm and welcoming as are the hosts Derek and Celia. The rooms are very comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean with a lovely large bathroom. Their chef, Ross Sutherland won Young Highland Cook of the Year in 2012, and thoroughly... More

We stayed recently for 3 days walking and visiting the highland wildlife park and really enjoyed our stay. We were made very welcome by the owners and all staff. Our room was comfortable (although the bed did not have a very comfy mattress and was quite hard with no give ), clean and warm with a lovely view over the... More

We knew The Cross had a great reputation for food and it was well - deserved. We have never eaten so well in Scotland. Red squirrels in the garden, lovely big bathrooms and showers, sleeping to the sound of the stream, it was a real treat.

We spent one night in The Cross on Valentines Day 2013. Our room (number 6) was lovely. It faced the river and the sound of the water flowing was relaxing. The room was well laid out and we had plenty of space. The television had a slot for DVDs and it's possible to borrow from a selection of these from... More

Myself and my partner visited the cross just for a weekend away, as the hotel has always had a good reputation and we have been meaning to visit for a few years. The hotel was cosy and the owners and staff very welcoming. Although the current owners have only been in Kingussie a few months it is obvious that they... More

This was for the last two nights of our honeymoon. The hotel is very cosy, an old tweed mill next to a river. It's very peaceful, the food was great and the staff very helpful. The room was clean, tastefully decorated, warm and comfortable. The breakfast options were great, with a scottish breakfast that was amongst the best I've had.... More

We only stayed here one night in September, but we were very happy with our stay. We had room 4 which has a little balcony (I believe it's the only room with a balcony) that overlooked a brook. Great quiet private spot. Had the best sleep listening to the water. They had our bubbly that we booked ready for us... More
