This was nice little place that has lots of potential and they are getting there. There is a lot of effort put in by the owners and the welcome is very friendly and personal. The lounge area is lovely and cosy and the breakfast was lovely and in a very pleasant garden room. The bedroom I had was very small... More

We have just had our twentieth wedding anniverary and stayed at the Columba House for two nights. Our stay was excellent in all respects. Hospitallity, room, comfort and food were all excellent. Myra and Bill could not do enough for us, thank you both. Watching the ducks have their breakfast in the beautiful walled garden was highly entertaining. Kingussie is... More

I had read the reviews after my husband booked and was a bit concerned but I don't think you should be. Thankfully no teddy bear but there were a couple of rubber duckies, which isn't exactly offensive and considering they own lovely real life ducks it seemed themed. But the rooms are a bit dated, lace dollies and old decor... More

We were really disappointed with our stay at the Columba House Hotel. We had booked as a special treat for a night away and thought we were getting a country house hotel style experience. However whilst the booking process and check in was very efficient, we felt that there were lots of small but important details that we would expect,... More

We had the very good fortune to enjoy this lovely place recently while touring Scotland. Of all the many establishments we stayed in, this was clearly the best. Myra and Bill are personable and hard working ... very friendly and keen to make your stay enjoyable. The food was absolutely superb, beautifully fresh and very generous proportions. The rooms are... I was about to book this hotel on their web site when I noticed they had a special offer on a double room at £3 a night. I called the hotel to let them know as this was obviously an error. I was not even thanked. The person I spoke to said "well I'd have been out of business a... More

Our visit was wonderful, very welcoming personal service, so rare these days! The food was outstanding and excellent value. The room was perfect for myself and my 90 yr old mum! We have tried several hotels for disabled elderly guests and have finally found one which is perfect! All our needs were catered for by Myra, does she ever rest?!... More

After a long battle with cancer my husband decided it would be a nice surprise to book us an romantic trip away to relax and enjoy ourselves. We, i say we, my husband was greeted very informally (first name terms already a tad presumptuous) by Myra, I was ignored as if i was a cheap fluzy being brought along for... More

From the moment we arrived Myra (The owner) made us feel very welcome. The room was excellent and very clean and our four poster bed was more than comfortable. The food was excellent, we had dinner in the restraunt twice and it was lovely. Breakfast was also very tasty. Add that to watching the ducks in the garden while you... More

The hotel is not very clean and the rooms are a bit rundown. The lady who owns and runs the hotel asked us at just after 9pm if we were planning on having more drinks which didn't make us feel very welcome. I ordered a cheesecake and it came out and it was runny!! My mum ordered steak and it... More
