very happy with my stay at esplanade lodge, very accommodating and comfortable,excellent breakfast with all tastes catered for. ideally positioned for entertainments, metro station and beach. well recommended to others.

Coming from Australia I expected somewhere along the waterfront with the address listed as Esplanade as that's how it is back home. Fairly happy with Esplanade Lodge without getting too excited. Rooms basic but clean. Food good even served early on the Sunday as most guests were running GNR.

The Esplanade Lodge was certainly cheap but personally I believe that what ever you pay for accommodation there are certain basics that should be adhered too. The concept of bed and breakfast is to offer bed and breakfast. 1) My bed sloped from side to side 2) 7.30 was too early for breakfast....and I would have struggled to get it... More

Arrived here, owner not in premises and was let in by a german girl who threw the keys at me told me which room i was in and said she was going out to a party. Got to the room - shared bathroom which was ok - but TV not working. Phoned recption and spoke to this gilr again but... More

Found this great place by knocking on the door. It was a very cold blustery day and after looking at too many other lodgings for availability, we happened upon this B & B. We have just returned from a four night stay. The owners (Neil and Tracey) really make you feel welcome, and your stay is really enjoyable. The lodge is situated right in the centre of things.
