We stayed for a week in the Stables self-catering cottage. The location is superb, one of the prettiest parts of the island and absolutely stunning views from the cliff top walk nearby. We were very impressed by the generous welcome pack, the best we've ever had. Have to agree with a previous comment that the narrow winding track up to... More

An excellent base for our first trip to the Isle of Man. Hospitality was first class without being intrusive, Very friendly. Breakfasts set you up for the day ahead ! On a clear day you can see Snaefell from the front windows. A short walk gives fabulous panoramic views of Peel and the coast.

Six of us on a walking holiday stayed for 5/6 nights in the guest house which was a real home from home as, besides the lovely bedrooms with kingsize beds in the doubles, we had sole use of a very large, well equipped and comfortable residents' lounge. This lounge was a real bonus for the group as we could easily... More

We enjoyed our second visit to The Stables last August and have booked again for this summer. The farm is in a great location and convenient for visiting all parts of the Island. The cottage is spacious and well equipped. Our children particularly enjoyed feeding the chickens and playing with the kittens. A highlight from last year was walking from... More

We loved the farm! We stayed for two days last spring. Fiona was so good to us and the whole family was so accommodating. Our youngest children loved helping feed the baby lambs. Our older kids enjoyed hiking up the hill near by. We stayed in the main house. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had plenty of... More

We loved our stay at Knockaloe Beg this past August. The entire family welcomed us and were friendly and helpful. We wanted to stay near Peel and Patrick, so the location was perfect for those locations and the entire island. The farm and the views were incredible! We took advantage of the public footpaths to walk from our guesthouse to... More

Five of us, 3 adults and 2 children, stayed in the self-catering cottage,The Stables, during October half-term. This was one of the best appointed holiday cottages I've stayed in. Superb bed-linen & towels (including dressing gowns), crockery, kitchen equipment etc. And such a friendly welcome from Fiona. The cottage is well-placed for exploring the island and has lovely views of... More

There was only one small problem - the lane up from the Patrick road. It was narrow and twisting and meeting a tractor meant careful driving ! Apart from that our family had an excellent stay there with very friendly people and excellent accommodation. I was born in Peel and I knew about the coastguard houses there but not about... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Knockaloe Beg Farm was rebuilt in 2007 as a modern, energy efficient building with a traditional feel. It has 5 en-suite double or twin bedrooms and a lovely private guest lounge with wood burning stove. It is part of our working farm where we milk 200 cows and breed from 800 ewes so lambing time is very busy and exciting! Our bedrooms all have really comfy, super king sized, zip and link beds with goose down duvets and large showers or baths. Breakfasts have gained a 'Breakfast Award' for being high quality as well as local, homemade, fairtrade or organic. We pride ourselves on our environmental awareness. The house is up a private farm lane so is very quiet with stunning views across open countryside and only a 20 minute walk to the sea. ... more   less
